One other point about the Duke game last night… Mark Mitchell’s shooting form is worse than I remember. Holy crap. It feels like a win that the ball hits something… rim, backboard, someone’s head… that has to get better for him to play at the next level.

I did poor job of articulating it, but what I posted before meant that where Mark Mitchell goes, Duke will go. If he plays well Duke is going to win most of the time. I heard he had a bad night last night .

Completely agree. He is this year’s Justise Winslow… albeit as a sophomore. Always felt like he was the X factor that elevated us to a different level.

Duke getting to the line at will was the deciding factor in this game. Imposing their will inside. I know it's early,but Izzo has to get back to the drawing board. They lived by the three ,and couldn't knock them down.

Michigan State will start like 12-8 or something and then climb in February and March to get a 6 seed and then the next thing you know they’re playing the second weekend . They have some good players.

Yep, Duke made 2x more free throws than MSU took. MSU actually made 4 more FGs. Some of that was fouls at the end, but I did think Duke was the aggressor which was good considering how they looked at times in the Arizona game. They also outrebounded MSU which is always a good sign against that program.

Yeah,I wouldn't compare the two, that's for sure. Jamison was something else back in the day. He was a nightmare for teams.

Flip just went down. Right ankle gave out as he was posting up. Didn’t look good.

*Edit: False alarm… Flip acted like he was shot. Thought it was significantly worse.

Tarheels off to a great start in the second half. A 16-1 run leading 51-42. Playing much better defense in the second half which saw Northern Iowa shooting 60 percent in the first half. Cormac Ryan is shooting lights out from downtown. Fun game to watch!

What a difference a half makes. I'll take 56 second half points. I know it was Northern Iowa,but I was impressed. Bacot not being a big factor,and everyone else contributed. Shooting lights out from three. On to the next game.

I didn't watch the UNC/Villanova game,but my stepdad told me that while it was close, they were outplayed. Looking forward to seeing how they match up with Tennessee.

I totally forgot about this 3rd place game with Arkansas. Arkansas leads 38-35 at halftime after a sloppy turnover by Carolina. They also need to hit their free throws. RJ Davis and Bacot were hit with two fouls early so that obviously hurt.

Mark for Arkansas had a really scary fall. Hopefully,he's okay. That looked bad. RJ Davis looked good in the second half. Bacot is a non factor,but again the rest of the team has stepped up. Wednesday against Tennessee should be interesting. It should be a tough game.

Duke currently struggling with a 1-5 Southern Indiana squad. Not sure what to think of that.
