I listened to part of the Tennessee basketball game this afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised at the play-by-play. Who is this man, this Bob Kesling replacement?

I found his ability to articulate the play by play refreshing.

It's a mirage----Bob will be right back.

Randy Smith.

I remember he was part of the Big Orange Radio Network in the mid to late 80's.

Seems like he is living/working in Chattanooga these days.

Glad this was brought up. I thought the exact same thing about this guy and Dane Bradshaw. They both went very well together and I would be more than happy to see Bob retire early. Since we are changing coaches, can we get a new announcer at the same time? Seems like the only reasonable thing to do....

Idk about Randy Smith. He's the one that has done a few of the CSS and PPV games and never knows the player's names.

Enjoyed Dane Bradshaw, but I like Bertlekamp too.

See, I had the exact opposite feeling. I hated listening to Randy call the game. I thought he was behind, and he never painted a picture. I felt so lost. Dane was very insightful, though.

Plus, Randy almost sounded like he was so happy he was going to have a heart attack when UMASS took the lead in the second half. Pretty annoying.

Now that think about it.....if the only thing that we had to listen to was an open mic, just hearing the squeaks of sneakers, crowd reaction, and ref whistles, we'd get more out of the game than listening to Bob.

Now that Dooley is gone, I guess you guys will call for Kesling's head. This board cracks me up.

Kesling is a sportscaster, not a play by play announcer. I couldn't agree more with sentiments above that we could do so much better.
