Last year there were a ton of threads inquiring about the moment you knew Dooley wasn't the guy. There is always doubt, but there is a turning point for each individual when you give up hope and come to that realization. For me it was early fourth quarter of the Florida game. This year we have all been extremely optimistic Butch was our guy, but you still have that turning point when you completely buy in to a new coach. Down the road, I think a lot of people will point to this SC win as their turning point. For me it was the Pig Howard fumble. I think his effort on that play epitomizes our expectations as fans. The positive reaction to a kid who just cost us a huge game by giving his all for Tennessee says a lot about our fan base after what we've been through. I'll always love Pig for that! What was or could become your turning point?

Kentucky Game when his team LAID down and cost us the nations longest winning streak against one school. He should have been fired right there at midfield, That Dawg 4 life should have had to find his way home with his mom and dad.

2nd half of the UGA game sealed the deal for me. Beating SC was just icing on the cake.

As for last year, I had my doubts for a very long time, but I without a doubt knew Dooley wasn't the guy after we came out and got thrashed by Miss. St. in the first half - after we had a damn bye week to prepare. Compare that to what Jones did in his 2 weeks of preparation and we know we have the right guy at the helm.

I said and definently think it was the Ga game! I said after that we would beat SC. And the way the team is up right now do not be surprised if we play Bama within 2 Tds and who knows stranger things has happened if Bama has a bad game we may just pull the biggest upset of the year! GBO!!!

Bama looks stronger than ever right now, but their only undefeated NC year in the Saban era was almost thwarted by the Big Orange. Just maybe

Oregon game, team was still playing instead of paying late in the 4th quarter even with subs taking over.

The aftermath of the Georgia game by the players attitude did it for me. It became a belief that the players had bought into Butch 100%. With that attitude, the UT players prepared for South Carolina with the belief that they could definitely win. The result? Butchered.

FL game had me wondering.

GA game had me almost convinced.

USCe game has convinced me.

Same here! The only hing I have been wondering since the FL game was WHEN key players were going to emerge. I felt like the game finally slowed down for Worley against UGA....that's when things really started to gel. When the QB calms down, everyone calms down.

The turning point was the firing of Dooley, and the hiring of Butch. It was in the first team meeting. The first practice. The turning point was in the overall change. The turning has been the process change. The attitude change.

First inkling of "we're in big trouble" under Dooley was LSU game. Failure to manage critical situations. Final nail in the coffin was botching the, again..critical situation, hire of a D coordinator in Sunseri and the implosion that took place 2nd half of FLA last year. Knew he was done.

For CBJ, 2nd half of the UGA game. You could just see the light come on and the competitive energy of this team just take a monumental leap forward. We're not gonna win em' all, but the ones we do lose, those opponents will be glad to get off the field and feel lucky to do so. GBO!

Last year it was the Mississippi State game, it was the most incompetent performance I had ever seen. State was a team we should have beaten and the game was so horribly managed and the coaching decisions blew my mind. After that game I washed my hands of Dooley, the staff and that season.

This year it was the gutsy 4th down calls in the UGA game to create and maintain momentum. No doubt if Butch plays it conservative we would not have had any chance at the end to win that game. It was his gumption to make those calls that really sealed the deal for me and then to have the game we had on Saturday just reaffirmed my opinion on him, the staff and the direction of the program.

Now begins a 5 game season.

Maybe we have turned the corner. But playing 3 top 15 teams in a row will suck

The only thing that really bugged me about the LSU game was that Dooley never took blame for the administration of substitutions, blaming the ST coach and players for not knowing the packages. The MS State game was when I knew he had no future at UT; there was no excuse for losing that game.

All you had to do was be in the stadium for either of the last two games to know that Butch gets it.

I knew Dools was a gone after the Florida game. For Butch, when he invited the old players back and embraced our traditions, I knew that he'd do fine. Unlike some people, when Butch was hired I was happy with the hire. He's a good guy, says the right things, and he can recruit.

I wanted to believe in Dooley for a long time, but when I watched him pack it in at the end of the Missouri game--with a minute or so left with Bray's cannon of an arm and all of our WR weapons--I realized he just doesn't get it. To not even take a shot, relying on our defense to somehow get a stop in overtime to win it--when they hadn't been able to stop them the entire second half--I was absolutely dumbfounded.

For Butch, I think it was the second half of the Georgia game. You could just sense the constant improvement and the growing support he had from fans and players. And the fourth quarter of the SC games sealed it. After a terrible third quarter, they simply shut down SC--three three and outs--and made plays when they had to.

It's great to be a Tennessee Vol!
