Kentucky Game when his team LAID down and cost us the nations longest winning streak against one school. He should have been fired right there at midfield, That Dawg 4 life should have had to find his way home with his mom and dad.

Dooley should have been fired by Charlie Daniels

I thought Dooley should've been fired after the UK loss. Worst lost for me in my lifetime as a UT fan.

The way we played in the Georgia game started to make me believe that Butch has made this program turn the corner. After that game I stopped thinking "we just aren't a very good football team" (which is what Dooley tried to convince everyone from day one). Looking at CBJ's body of work in recruiting thus far, and after watching the USCjr. game.... I am sold on Butch. :good!: The future is bright Vol fans!

I gave Dooley until the MSU game last year. I saw a backward trend, but that game sealed it for me.

I bought into Butch when I crunched the numbers and saw how well he improved recruiting at Cincy and how he over-performed by 2 games a season based on talent averages.

I felt like I saw some real signs of improvement through the UF game (lack of penalties, improved kicking) but was concerned with how long it would take Butch to turn the ship around on a measurable scale. Taking UGA to OT was evidence that he had the team performing, beating SCAR was the point at which you can say that for the first time in almost a decade we are performing to the talent level. Now it is up to Butch to turn it into over-drive and show his history for winning 2 games a season that he shouldn't.

Losing to Mississippi State was when I was sure that Dooley was never going to get it done here. They were way over ranked but it would have given him a win that could save his job and he blew it.

I've felt good about Butch most of the season, except starting Peterman at Florida, I think he may have given in to the pressure to start someone other than Worley. But when the team played to the end against a much more talented UGA team I was pretty sure he was going to do some good stuff here.

All of us wanted to see bUTch take this team and WIN just 1 game that we weren't supposed to Win and he did that.

In fact he damn near Won 2 games that we weren't supposed to Win at all.

We should all be satisfied with the directrion bUTch has us going in just his 1st year at this point.

We all want more but realistically we shouldn't expect it in this 1st year.

Getting us to a Bowl game with the toughest schedule in the country is a daunting task following up what CDD left us and maybe even Winning that Bowl game would be a cherry on top of this tough season.

Next year we'll lose most of our great O Line so it's back to square 1 for us but now we know for a fact that we finally have a real football coaching team that will take us back up the mountain to where our Vols belong all the time.

In a few more years anytime someone mentions SEC football they'll again be thinking and talking about our Tennessee Vols.

This ride back up is sure going to be fun to watch!

Last year there were a ton of threads inquiring about the moment you knew Dooley wasn't the guy. There is always doubt, but there is a turning point for each individual when you give up hope and come to that realization. For me it was early fourth quarter of the Florida game. This year we have all been extremely optimistic Butch was our guy, but you still have that turning point when you completely buy in to a new coach. Down the road, I think a lot of people will point to this SC win as their turning point. For me it was the Pig Howard fumble. I think his effort on that play epitomizes our expectations as fans. The positive reaction to a kid who just cost us a huge game by giving his all for Tennessee says a lot about our fan base after what we've been through. I'll always love Pig for that! What was or could become your turning point?

That play did NOT "cost us the game".
