The Aftermarket Ticket Racket

Why Kentucky? Lower key, assured win?

My two best friends are Kentucky fans, and being from there that's just always a special game. Plus, I love seeing their disappointed faces. I'm shopping around for tickets to the Georgia game also, that one will be more interesting.

The way battle at Bristol tickets was handled pisses me off. Why would Bristol season ticket holders get more tickets than the two schools playing?? (If I'm wrong about that, please ignore my post)

I agree. Their ticketing policy was strange. I guess in their mind it was a success because it's sold out. But it seems they made it difficult for UT or VT non-season ticket fans to get tickets.

The Tool concert in Nashville was ridiculous. It sold out in about 2 minutes and I lucked out getting tickets through Ticketmaster, but I had to log on right when they went on sale and still had to refresh about 5 times. Immediately after the tickets on StubHub were ridiculous.

Absolutely. We were not so fortunate and had to go the secondary market route. $300/pc after fees for floor seats. There's no way an arena sells out 15000ish seats instantaneously without some major cheating going on.

I really have to think that eventually some damning information will come out that bites TM in the butt. It won't help prior buyers, but it might force better sales policies in the future.

Plus, the seating is BS, but that's really been the case on all "away" tickets we've gotten through UT. Our season tickets are lower level on the 40, and I've gotten nothing but crap tickets to bowl games, neutral site, and true away games. From now on, I'll be going the aftermarket route.

The away tickets are getting bad! Look at what UT did to the visitors section...basically sticking it in the top rows across the S. endzone upper deck. It used to extend in the N. endzone lower level.

I know my aTm will be in the stratosphere and the season ticket holder I'm going with sits in section S. Oh well, it's a bucket list road game.

Learned that lesson last year at the Outback Bowl.

Just for peace of mind I'll stick with the TN Fund for away games, but at a neutral site I'll almost always go aftermarket.
