The Alabama Postgame Report

Zones are best attacked at the free throw line and along the baselines. We have no player that can do that. Woolridge looks like he could, but he hasn't. No one else even fits the part. Great coaching job to zone us.

I remember Mcbee having an open shot and Cam with a couple or three. I meant that Jordan had one early, but was pulling up with people in his face most of the game.

Off the top of my head, I don't recall that many open shots, outside of Cam with @ 3 or so, but I don't think they felt they had to guard him, tbh. You can tell it in your opponents face. Sometime you just guard him loosely and dare him to shoot, which makes him go into even more of a psychological funk.

Off my rough count I kept it was cam around 3, mcbee 3, McRae 2 and Richardson 1. I wanna say golden had 1 o 2 as well.

When your guards can't knock down open 3's, it makes it hard to attack the middle of a 2-3 zone. Hard to coach shooting. You either can or you can't. Too bad for us, we have more "can'ts" than "cans"

Shooting well from outside helps, but we don't have anyone willing or capable of attacking the zone off the dribble.

Did anyone notice that on each and every time Kyle Macy questioned the official's call, he said that a poor call went against Alabama. One thing is for sure, unless you are Kentucky in the SEC, the home team nearly always gets the borderline calls. This game was no different, but Kyle could only see bad calls against Alabama.

We need to get together and purchase him the opponent's cheerleading skirt.

Since he is a former KY player, I doubt Macy has any love lost for the Vols

No true PG on our team and this is what you get. I like GOlden and think he is invaluable, however, he is not a true PG. However, without him, we really are horrible.

Our biggest inefficiency is the lack of a consistent knock down shooter. No ability to stretch zones. With no one knocking down open jumpers we will not beat a zone team. You have to hit open shots.

Hope to see more posters down to earth.... We would be a good NIT team, but not in the dance :hi:

I disagree. I actually think we would be a great team in the dance because of our defense. Problem is, we lost too many non-conf. games (AP, Oakland, Charleston) and a give me SEC road game (GA) that have basically killed our chances for getting in the big dance. Too bad though because I think this would be a great NCAA toruney team.

Very true. We knew this was a major concern from the get-go. He is a SG in a PG's body.

We better get Kenny Hall back before we play LSU and Vandy. His absence from the post rotation really hurt us and will continue to hurt us down the road. He, along with Maymon and Stokes provides a viable scoring option in the post. No one else does.

I just think we would play longer and make a bigger splash in the NIT and may help us in the NCAA next year.... again JMHO... VFL

Martin will never do any better than the NIT kinda like Buzz Peterson who also followed a coach who had a very successful run like Bruce Pearl. All Mike Hamilton coaching hires are doomed to fail.

I think CCM is fine but the talent level is just not there with this bunch on the offensive side of the ball. Stokes will be better next year with a full offseason to develop a college game but who else can score consistently? Pretty sure Maymon is a senior.

Would you like to put some money behind your ignorance?
