Exactly . . . All the sabremetrics in the world can't beat hitting it big with 3 cheap and dominant starting pitchers at the same time.
I was actually having this discussion with a friend of mine when she was telling me about the previews. I would really like to see them show how the players Beane shunned if you will turned out to be regular every day players and I believe some of them have even become All-Stars. Meanwhile all Beane has been able to produce since is good pitching.
For what it's worth, Jason Giambi, Miggy and a healthy Eric Chavez did wonders for that era of the A's as well. We haven't even been able to fill one of their spots in the offense since Giambi and Miggy left and Chavez permanently hurt himself.
