I know there are some Tennessee fans that pull for Peyton over the Titans but I'm not one of them. The announcers sounded as if everyone in Tennessee pulled for Peyton's Colts over the Titans.I like Peyton when he's not going against the Titans.

Well, a lot of UT fans either don't have a NFL team they root for or already had a team by the time the Oilers came, so I'd say a good percentage are rooting for Peyton and the Colts.

Another example of ppl living in the past. Let it go!!! he doesn't play here anymore and has very little to do with athletics in TN now except showing up on the sidelines every now and then. I don't know about you but I'd rather support my homestate team.

who are you to tell me who i can and can not cheer for? personally i'm a cowboys fan, but regardless, peyton is possibly the greatest of all time. i enjoy watching him play. cheer for the titans i don't care, and neither should you care about who i want to cheer for

I much rather see Peyton win than the Titans. Petyon was here before the titans came to Tn
Ok same to you, I don't really care if he was here before the titans came. I really don't care who you like. I've just meet alot of people that cheer for the colts because peyton used to play for TN. That being said good luck to your team.

Peyton was great for our program but he has moved on. I like to see him do well and wish him the best but when he plays the Titans I want him to get beaten soundly.

that's great and all but the comments that came from the Oilers coaches and mgmt when they came to TN ticked people off. They are not the homestate team, just transplants.

And what comments would that be?

they were comments made when they moved to TN about competing with UT football. Something to the effect of we play real football and they're just college so we don't compete. There was more but it's been awhile. It just instantly made me dislike them and it never changed. Then there was the whole Eddie George/Jeff Fisher comments on the Heisman vote...

People want to knock the E TN fans who like the Colts but they did an amazing job of marketing their team there when the Titans chose not to. They flooded the shops with Colts gear and made sure the games were on in Knox. They made an effort and it paid off in a bigger fan base.

Yes, it has been awhile and I don't remember the comments at least from a reliable source. And I don't think the Titans have taken anything away from UT football.

I'm a fan of both teams, but when they play against each other I always cheer for the Titans.

Maybe I heard wrong but I thought the announcers said most fans want Peyton to play well but wanted him to lose when they played the Titans, which I figure is the general consensus among Titans/Peyton fans.

I thought I was the only one to remember that stuff. It seemed like they were actively trying to piss UT fans off.

Bud Adams, also took the name Tennessee Titans vs. Nashville Titans so he could use the "T".

I dunno, i like the same letter names that Tenn, Jax, buffalo, and seattle use; just think it sounds better

and the tennessee v nashville titans thing seems like a more trying to unify the state thing; really the titans v vols thing initially seemed to be just a what you're a fan of thing (college vs pro) but then w/ the realignment, became a are you a fan of peyton (UT) or not silly kinda argument...

I am also curious to see what happens to most colts fans in the east tennesse area after manning retires too

And as for a "Bud Adams trying to piss off UT" or steal UT's thunder or anything, the only thing that guy cares about is saying FU to / pissing off the city of houston; i dont think he really tried to do anything against knoxville nor criticize the univ.

The two teams have hepled each other too; fulmer and his staff went up to Nashville before 01 when we had witten to talk w/ fisher about how they used wycheck on the titans....i think witten had a pretty good year then and next season didnt he?

I became a Colts fan in 5th grade when Peyton was drafted by them. I will remain a Colts fan after he retires.

If any Titan fan has a problem with that, I don't give a rats arse.
