looking for recommendations for USB ports that I can attach to the Thunderbolt ports on my MacBook Pro. I've seen the strips online that have a bunch of legacy ports, but there are several models with widely different prices. Normally, I figure you get what you pay for but I don't want to throw money away if it not necessary.

Satechi, Anker, and Belkin are pretty solid in the thunderbolt port multiplier field. You can't go wrong with any of those, just make sure you get the model that has the ports you need.

Just get the Walmart brand. ONN

This. I love Anker products. I've had great success with them. And they have a lot of different options to choose from when it comes to hubs for the MacBook.

Anyone else hating the iOS 15.1 update? My iPhone has gone straight to Hail.

Is it so much to ask to not rearrange Safari overnight?

FYI. Got a Pack of 4 Anker cables for 24.99 at Costco.

Go to settings > Safari. You can put it back like it was.

I did not notice until later, but in one of the recent iOS updates, spatial audio was updated. You now have options to turn off head tracking. I really wanted to listen to music in spatial mode, but I could not stand what happened when I turned my head. Now they have "fixed" mode, and that gives you all the features of spatial audio, but without the head tracking. It's much better! Going back and listening to a lot of old albums that are now in Dolby Atmos and it's cool to pick out all the little details that never made the album copy!

Sorry if this the wrong thread. But I'm looking looking to upgrade my phone. I am Android but am looking to switch to Apple. One of the main reasons is I have a Mac which I love and I want to be able to sync my accounts easier. As well as video quality which imo is better with apple. I'm looking at the iPhone SE because of price because I don't want to go crazy with what I spend. My question is, how is the SE is it decent or would I be wasting my time?

I would suggest getting at least the 12 (5G). Plus the SE is small.

just upgraded my folks and they were looking at the SE but it's got some crappy reviews - they got 12 minis instead which while more expensive are better phones.

I agree with looking at 12's if you don't want to pay the 13 price. if you like the small form factor the 12 mini is basically the same size as the SE

I'm so close to dumping my Pixel for an iPhone. Android 12 is just having issue after issue for me (battery drain, bugs, texts not sending, calls dropping) and I'm getting tired of Google's horrific product support.

I'm thinking of opting for the 13. If you all have one which one did you get? The Pro appeals to me but so does the Mini.

I like the pro max just for the size. I don’t think I could go to a smaller phone after having the “plus” version for so long

Anyone gotten the iPhone 14? Specifically the Pro series? Interested to know how you feel about the "dynamic island" if so.

Also, why does the iPad Air still exist?

I got my first iphone back in May because my work decided I needed a company phone. I am not impressed. Weighs twice as much as my droid and that is annoying to me. Plus it is loaded with more bloatware than my droid came with. Which seems really stupid given it is a company phone. You would think all that would be removed by the MDM guys.

The good news is that the "bloatware" can all be removed, like with Android.

I will say that the Apple "bloatware" is not the same as what I remember seeing with Android. There aren't 5-6 games and other nonsense loaded onto Apple phones. But, they do have a bunch of programs that the average user finds useless (Garageband, etc.).

I assume you have a Pro or Pro Max? Those two have stainless steel sides and are considerably heavier. Also considerably stronger :). I think the "non-Pro" iPhones are on-par with competition, weight-wise.

I honestly don't know. I have yet to actually use it. I never get calls on it and never bother checking work emails after hours.
