nobody served me redneck. the fact is his record sucks against good teams. yeah his bowl games were close....so weren't we against lsu and GA and USC. big deal. lot of pissed of hillbillies right now.

Its an amazing hire by Arkansas.... and a real blow to the stomach for Wisconsin and the B1G. If a school like Arkansas, which is a bottom half of the SEC school can steal the second most decorated coach in your conference, your conference is in huge trouble.

Didn't he just whip Nebraska by 40 a few days ago who were ranked #12 and had a great D? And what wins games in the SEC again? (Won't even mention he coached the all time rushing leader in NCAA history) also, Bama beat us by more points this year than he lost to OSU over the last 5 years combined. Dude will be fine and is a great hire for Arky.

Bielema's a good coach but an indifferent recruiter. And don't forget his complaints about Urban Meyer being too aggressive. How's he going to recruit against SEC schools? in The SEC West is going to smother him because he's simply not going to be able to get the players to compete consistently against Bama and LSU. I'm glad we didn't give him a look.

If OSU wasn't on probation they would be in the NC game and that would leave Wisconsin still in the Rose Bowl most likely.

Bielema is a great coach, but I think it's a risky hire since he has no connections to the South or SEC. If he doesn't recruit well, his tenure at Arky may be short-lived. I think if he can survive doing poorly the first 2 years, he will have a long and prosperous time with the Razorbacks. But I think things will be rough for him in the SEC in the short term.

We don't want him, he doesn't know how to recruit in the SEC, even said he never wanted to be like us. He will have to learn to recruit before he succeeds at all. Strong or Gundy are both far and away a better hire than this guy. Read this:

so they got lucky when they went to the rose bowl two years ago also? how about 3 years ago, that one too? come on man, im not saying hes a great head coach, but those big 10 championships were not luck, yes maybe they got lucky to get into that game, but they scored 70 points against a top 10 team and won.

The radio was talking about who all turned them down. Franklin turned down over four million from there. Paterson said no. Washington coach said no. Les miles said no. Peterson said no. Gundy said no.

Even if you dont count this years Rose Bowl, Wisconsin made the past 2. Which looks better than a loss in the Belk bowl (Strong)
