That's the thing. People have to realize that he's a good middle of the rotation guy and stop expecting him to be a 20 game winner.

I really don't think this is directed at me..but..

Minor as a 3 has been his ceiling imo for forever. And more likely to be a 5 than a 3. Again, my opinion.

My problem with minor is, as I've stated 500 times, is not that he's mike minor. It's that we wasted the seventh pick in the draft on a low ceiling rotation filler because he was cheap.

If he exceeds that, then great. Still don't like the philosophy that was backed up the following #1 pick by drafting gilmartin.

Hopefully sims and hursh mark a new trend. Specifically Sims.

I agree, he shouldn't have been drafted there. But that is on Wren. If the Mets wouldn't have picked Wheeler, then Wheeler is the rotation right now.

Comparing a guy struggling to stay in AAA to a guy who has been an above average major league pitcher is going way too far IMO.

What make you think he is closer to a number 5 than a number 3?

I get what you're saying but doesn't the whole draft turn into a crap shoot after the first couple of rounds though?

It's only a big difference because Julio and Wood (and even Beachy) weren't on the team last year.

And over the last year, regression star Kris Medlen has been better.

He had the second best ERA amongst starting pitchers in the MLB second half last year, second only to Clayton Kershaw.

His ERA has been in the top 10 NL the vast majority of this season until a week and a half ago.

Medlen's was sub 1. There's no way your first sentence is accurate.

Not entirely (and definitely not under the old system) but that's not too far from true.

Which makes taking a low-ceiling player in the first round (especially the top 10) even worse.

I have not. Honestly, I'd wager that even their salads are close to 800+ calories, though. I'm sure they're tasty.

Over 800 if you go with one that has the chicken fried and add dressing. If you go with the grilled chicken with dressing about 450
