I hate to admit this...but I've been on Volnation for going on nine years...and I never knew there were non-Vols centered forums, until last night when someone mentioned the MLB forum....I usually am on mobile and have never noticed there is an option to go to these other forums...my god...there are so many...

Also, go Braves! Youngest team in the MLB with a bright, bright future for years to come (hopefully)

Yessir!! :hi:

The only concern I see for the Preds is going longer than expected with the Avs and then possibly 7 with Winnipeg could be a problem if you face Vegas in the Conference Finals. The Preds were the best team in hockey this year. It’s too early to panic.

Definitely not too early to panic. If they lose Game 4, the series is almost certainly over. The cracks in the foundation were evident in the Colorado series. Remember, the Avs very easily could have won Game 2 in Nashville and/or Game 4 in Denver. Despite the Preds winning 4 out of the 6 games played, that series very easily could have gone 7. If the Avs just had marginally better depth or marginally better goaltending, they probably would have won. They are nowhere near as good an overall team as Nashville, but they outplayed Nashville for extended periods of time in that series.

The thing that pisses me off the most about the game last night is that Nashville had the chance to stomp on their throat but blew it. Winnipeg might have had a little bit of a hangover from the Game 2 double OT loss and looked shell shocked after giving up that 3rd goal. You could have heard a pin drop in that building. But then within a period, the roles were totally reversed. Makes me sick.

I get the occasional Pekka soft goal. It's always happened with him. However, I just have no answers as to why the defense is so porous, takes bad angles, gives away the puck, and generally just plays bad fundamental hockey. They haven't done this all year until now.

There were a couple of stretches where I thought the defense could have played better this season in front of Pekka. They seem to go thru a little phase every now and again. This just happened to be terrible timing.

Lmao literally the easiest thing to acquire

Bullpen also not as bad as they’ve shown. Moylan gotta go bit winkler minter viz all good pitchers. I also think biddle’s going to be fine

Biddle
Winkler
Minter
Viz
Carle (assuming it’s not a bad injury)

That’s a pretty solid five at the backend. Maybe Fried can provide something too.

From the getting way ahead of ourselves department, soroka could probably go 170 IP this year... which means he could probably pitch through September

This looks like an attempt to reassert power on the part of the Haslams. I bet he wanted to do this as soon as she hired Fulmer, but I think he had lost so much power at that point he had to fall back because he didn't have the political power to do it.

I knew that. I mean why

My default ssumption is that this is probably for insubordination to the damn Haslam family. I mean I doubt she’s been sexually harassing people.

The biggest fallout is that Phil lost his biggest supporter in the leadership. It wouldn’t shock me if the fallout of this is a new AD too (not like in the next couple months but by next summer).

Do y'all think it's possible that the proximate cause of the firing was Fulmer signing that long-term deal?

We all know Haslam took an L when Fulmer was hired, but perhaps he thought he'd last just a year, two years tops, and then go back into retirement. For all intents and purposes, just function as an interim AD. He appears to be in this for a longer haul, and that couldn't have made Haslam happy.

Idk but DiPietro basically called Bev a self entitled incompetent ***** in her firing letter
