I'm not sure the first round matchup is all that bad. I'd just as soon play a Dodgers team that compiled 90+ wins playing largely against their mediocre at best division as opposed to a Pirates/Reds team that compiled 90+ against much tougher competition. No matter what, once you get to October you're going to be playing a good team.

My thoughts exactly.

I'd rather face the Dodgers. I just hate that we lost home field. I feel like that's more important than our nlds opponent

^ lol

LOL. Come on now, what difference does it make when you play the Dodgers? National league runs through LA, if you want to play in the series you're gonna have to beat them. That's my point, what difference does in make if you lose in round one or two? It's the playoffs, not going for a moral series win and an exit. If you want to win it all you have to beat the good teams at some point. Hell, y'all act like the Dodgers are the '27 Yankees.

I don't care who or when we play anyone. Id just have preferred home field throughout the NL

Not acting like anything other than the best two pitchers still pitching reside in LA. To want that over AJ Burnett and Francisco Liriano or mat Latos and homer bailey is moronic.

The Dodgers have Clayton Kershaw lined up to start both Game 1 and a decisive Game 5. The wild card winner not only has nobody on the staff like that to begin with, but will also have blown their #1 starter in the wild card game. Just from a pitching standpoint, facing the wild card winner would be far better. I can't see how anybody would rather face Kershaw twice in a five game series.

Plus you get Greinke once too. Fun.

Plus, if I was unbiased, I think the Cards match up better with the Dodgers than us, and we match up better with the Cards than the Dodgers. Plus, I would have really liked our chances against Reds or Pirates.

Gotta win Game 1, or I don't think the series will make it back to Atlanta.

Bingo.
