I need some help, my baseball knowledge isn't very good:

I don't think I understand baseball. How did the reds get a no hitter when the 7th inning posey gets a base hit?

I haven't seen it, bit i assume it was ruled an error? Meaning the play could have been made but the fielder eff'd it up?

Posey's was a force out because Blanco was tagged out going from 2nd to third. That's not a hit.

It means if he wanted to, he coukd have thrown out Posey. Instead he chose to get the lead runner with the force out

When a player does not advance a base when the ball is in play and he tries to advance, that's a force out.

Had Posey hit a single to Choo and threw Blanco out at home, that's a single.

But Blanco was on second and was thrown out at third. That's a force out.

They really don't do a great job of explaining the rules on television. Then again they may have explained t live, but I only got to see the last two innings.
