Just looked again and realized that Kimbrel came in for the 10th. In hindsight, I probably wouldn't hold him out any longer than that.

I would have tried to time it so as to not waste Kimbrel pitching to the 6-7-8 hitters. Or held onto him until there's a jam to work out of, then let him finish that inning and pitch the next inning too. But in general I think it's a good move to use him.

BJ only occupies the 7th hole off of past merit.

And because I think it is almost physically impossible for him to have a worse half than this first half. Only one way to go from here. For 14 million I don't think being a 7th hole hitter is too lofty of expectations at this rate. Least I really hope so. He is much needed to live up to his end.

I didn't mind it. Just could not believe Fred did it. Also agree with this

Would have been good to have him in that jam in the 13th, but Carpenter did well working out of it.

Lol he could bat .350 the rest of the year and not live up to the contract we gave him. Your right tho, I hope he turns it on the 2nd half of the year. We need our high paid players to produce!

Work was rough tonight. 13 hour shift and my manager, a 40 something year old man, only wanted to listen to Reba McEntire and JoDee Messina all day. I don't mind country, but when I hear "Fancy" 6 times during my shift, I never wanna hear country again

Braves win, nats lose, lead back to 5, much more calm. It's crazy how much different 5 games feels than 4

Mother of God...

If you had told me at the beginning of the season the Braves would have a 5 game lead at this point of the season i'd have been ecstatic. Factor in the offensive struggles this lineup has had overall, and we couldn't be in a better position as far as I'm concerned. These guys can't possibly have the problems the last half of the season they did in the first...can they?

Can someone tell me what terry Collins is doing to Matt Harvey for a team not in contention?

You mean you wouldn't want him to get to 120 pitches tonight?

Edit: I missed by 1, terry wanted him to get to 121 and set his career high.
