The Atlanta Braves Thread

The consistency of the seeds that he's getting into the tournament, combined with the runs in the tournament, is absolutely elite-level stuff.

2021: #3 national, CWS
2022: #1 national, SR
2023: unseeded, CWS
2024: #1 national, at least SR

That's like basketball being a #1 seed 3 out of the last 4 seasons and the top overall seed twice, then having 2 Elite Eight appearances (at least), and always making it out of the first weekend.

I miss cardboards being here to reply to this and say "all it means is they piss down their leg when it really matters."
I saw Saturday......
Couldn't care less about the BaseVols or most college athletics anymore. I won't be around much. Banned or not.

My takes on the Braves since I've been gone.
Told yall about Strider
Losing Ronald sucks
We need to find a long term RF and move Ronald to DH
Release the kids in the rotation( SS, Waldrep, and AJSS when healthy.)
TDA batting 5th and Murphy 8th is wild
Build the best bullpen possible at the trade deadline
We need a better SS.

The field in not the issue. He is going to have to change his game in other ways and not be as aggressive stealing bases to hold up over the long hold. I’d definitely move him out of leadoff

What about pro sports?
Well the NBA sucks...... and most of other pro leagues while secondary pieces move the stars usually stay put in places for awhile. My problem in college is you have the stars moving jumping around creating super teams for the highest bidders.
Guys transferring up and down levels( aka DK, who I was very wrong on doesn't bother me as much, although I will always question if they belong, but guys going P5 to P5 is what annoys me the most.)

Requiring kids to keep up the charade of amateurism to feel connected to your school is weird, man.
Nope, keep your stars when the secondary pieces move it's not as bothersome. Imo coaches should be allowed to offer multi year scholarships to build a core, then if the secondary guys move around it's not as annoying.

"Damn, I want to feel connected to the school of the state I was born and raised in and my family has been fans of for generations but I just can't abide by this specific off-field rule that keeps kids from cashing in on their value."

Good stuff.

What ‘star’ has Tennessee gotten or lost?

Chase Burns would have transferred under the pre-NIL and transfer portal rules.

Same for Dalton.

So who specifically has Tennessee picked up or lost that moved the needle in such a significant or frequent way for this to be your reasoning?

DK carried the basketball team.
Ammick gets talk about more than anyone on the baseball team
Stamos/Causey have the Friday night Ace roles
Snead is first out of the pen in big spots.

If you want to go football.
Hooker. Milton playing the most important position on the field. Bru as WR1.
Our teams have literally been carried by the portal.
