The Atlanta Braves Thread

Sound good, but is that possible?

I'm not sure honestly. I don't think they would get a massive prospect haul but even off a terrible year somebody might take a chance on him. Decent amount of mid to major market teams that need a 1B. Boston, Cubbies, Houston, Yankees, San Francisco

Because even with the injuries to Acuna and Strider, the way this team has played is absymal.

They've got to shake it up this offseason and be a more flexible team. Having Olson's potential albatross is going to hurt. Do I have every answer, no. But they can't come back with the same roster after what's happened this year.
Forcing Snit to retire should be first. After, would love to give Willy Adames a run.

His contract is not a problem. He makes as much money as Chris Bassit and Mitch haniger. If he hit FA there would be no shortage of teams ready to give him more than the 5/100 he’s owed.

You've seen him this year. I know you're a huge Olson guy but he's been absolutely dreadful this year. All his statcast numbers are in the tank compared to the last two years. And he's going into age 31 with 5 years left and it's going to get worse.
I actually haven’t seen much of him this year. I hate the construct of this team and don’t think they’re a serious contender. They can’t put together meaningful at bats, any of them. There’s not enough stuff to win in October. I don’t have much free time. I keep up with it but I’m not actually watching much.

I would be interested to know how many LH/LH at bats he has. How many quality pitches he actually gets to hit. He’s essentially batting 8th pre DH with the pitcher spot behind him. 5-9 has been an absolute joke.

Theres a massive difference in “being a huge Olson guy” and having a logical opinion about someone who hit 54 home runs last year.

I don't disagree with any of that. The construction of this team outside the starting pitching has been a train wreck. Funny enough, he's actually been fine against lefties this year (better than fine, 125 wRC+ compared to 95 wRC+ vs righties) but he's been just terrible in big spots this year and his approach has been bad as well. He's nowhere near seeing the ball as well as he had and that shows with the massive drop in walk rate. But even when he was hitting in front of Ozuna he was struggling. Maybe he's hurt and he's not letting on. I don't know. But just watching him this year, he's been abysmal. And I have a bad feelings it's going to get worse.

The stuff thing from pitchers whew boy.
I'd love to have just one arm out of the pen throwing 100. The Dominicans are growing those guys on trees it would be nice to have a couple.

Yankees don't want that chit.

I'd still take Rizzo over Olsen. Outside of Rizzo, name the last one....I'll wait. Because Tex and Giambi weren't out of their prime. Nor was Tino.

Giambi and Tex were good but you didn't get their MVP caliber years though.

For one, it’s Olson

For two, you’re not even one of those good clowns. More like the rent-by-the-hour kids birthday clowns
