Couldn’t imagine being “on call” 24/7/365 with the “pressure” to break everything
Good for him for choosing to live.
I didn't really realize (or maybe appreciate is the better word for it) until last night that Riley, after Stoops fired Heup, installed basically the same offense Heup was running at OU previously.'That cut was deep': After a bitter parting, Tennessee coach Josh Heupel comes home to Oklahoma
Heupel leads Tennessee into Oklahoma, where he quarterbacked the Sooners to a national championship as a player before being dumped as a coach.www.espn.com
Didn't realize Heup signed Jordan Love

I'm sure he felt like a scapegoat already, and hiring a guy after you who installed more or less the same thing you were doing I'm sure contributed to the "WTF, Bob?" nature of the whole thing. Makes you wonder if it was less about getting a new offense and more about a personality conflict or something.
Sounds like something we would do.Stoops went 8-5 and was feeling (a little) heat and got blown out in the bowl game. Oklahoma had a top 25 offense with Trevor Knight, but they had a really bad defense (like bottom 40). Who so happened to coordinate that defense?
Mike Stoops.
Bob didn't want to fire his brother (who just recently got fired at Arizona). He then used Heupel and Jay Norvell as the scapegoats instead of firing his brother. He then hired Riley running basically the same system, who got the job in short order as HC when a lot of people assumed Heupel was next in line. Stoops hired Riley to fix Knight, which Riley did not do and instead gave the offense to Baker Mayfield. Riley fired Mike Stoops after Bob retired.
That's why Heupel holds such a grudge.

And the dude is relentless and spiteful. Onside against Kent (not spite), being ticked at Ty Simpson’s dad at UT Martin, and Drink making a snide comment…Heupel got fired after they put up 36.4 PPG and averaged 465 YPG. They scored under 30 one time and lost games 37-33, 31-30, 48-14 and 38-35
I think he wants to win in Norman badly (no shock there), but I think we are gonna see petty CJH when Florida comes to town. I don’t think we will see the same guy this weekAnd the dude is relentless and spiteful. Imagine how bad he wants to hang 100 on OU
