Especially with how putrid the offense has been. The probability you get three excellent starts dwindles significantly having to throw somebody on Game 3.

And they don't have a plan for G3 outside of Morton/Holmes for 5.

The goal should be to win a WC series, not just make it. If there were analytics for this, and you assume the Mets sit as many impact players as possible, I feel very confident the numbers would say pitching someone other than Sale gives you significantly higher odds of taking the WC series.

It's not a mash unit. This is a team that has 7 guys still playing everyday that have made an all star team. They just have no heart or guts from the top down.

I'm a math guy, but the odds are 0% you can win the WC series if you don't win game 2. And the odds say Sale is the best guy to do that for you.
