When Ronald went down, combined with the injuries they already had and the lead the Phillies had, I think many of these guys packed it in mentally.

There's talent on this roster so "packing it in" results in 90 wins instead of 65, but most of these dudes started looking to next year in late May.

At least if they had missed the postseason there was a chance that actual changes would be put in effect.
