Aguilar isn't Bray. It's TBD, in my opinion, whether he has the arm to operate our wide splits stuff.

But he's used to operating out of the gun and off of play action. Often puts his eyes in the right place after play action. Some actual precision on throws.

Can throw on the run. Will also put the ball in harm's way extending plays. I think this was partially a product of a pitiful defense and no run game whatsoever last year at App... Heupel will have a run game; we likely won't give up 21 a quarter.

Perhaps this is good old fashioned cope, but if Nico had some of what Aguilar has on tape, people would've been salivating for Nico in the portal. Joey hits multiple of the throws Nico whiffed on last year.

Jarrett Stidham or Bryce Petty may be more fair comps?

Cannot front like I watched as anything other than a fan scarfing down a local burger and brew, but a fan favorite. Definitely the jersey you saw the most. Season went south last year because coaching was stale and talent got looted a bit... Not because Joey was garbage. I imagine a lot of people from this area will be excited to see him on a big stage if he wins the job.

If he brings the qualities we're seeing plus toughness or some level of "eff it, let's go do this" he'll win some games.

I’ve seen a few short videos but how mobile is he? Like he doesn’t need to be dobbs or hooker but can he extend vs a rush or when guys are covered up downfield?

Can extend and will find 4-7 yards for the sticks to keep tempo going.

But if we're designing a run it's one of deception. Not "let's get him in the open field!"
