The Atlanta Schools Cheating Scandal

My mother always went to parent-teacher night. It was embarrassing to me then, but now I appreciate it.

In 4th or 5th grade my parents made me go in and apologize to the teacher for being so disruptive in class at the end of one.

My parents were always working during P-T conferences. Sad, really. Mom went to like 2 of them. I was well behaved, though. Not really much to tell my parents.

We have ours from noon until 7:30pm. Pretty wide time slot. We used to do it 3:30-6:30. I think that I have fewer parents show up since we lengthened the day of the conferences. We also will schedule meetings during our planning time (30 minutes) or after school. We really do try to accommodate parents to no avail.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that my schools did some sort of Thursday 8-12 and Friday 12-5 deal or something like that to accommodate. It just never worked out. It's a huge obstacle for the single parents and low income parents anyways.

Yesterday was the deadline for all of those who were involved to step down. Only 7 did

Seven APS employees step down in scandal | ajc.com

Of the seven, two resigned and five retired. The district is now expected to begin termination proceedings against those who stayed. The process will take several months, because of employees' contractual and legal rights to due process. -- Kristina Torres

Thank god my kids go to Fulton County schools, thank god there's no plan to merge us with APS, I can't wait to break away a bring back Milton County. Our taxes here in North Fulton all get stolen by Atlanta, College Park and the other slums south of Midtown. Anyone in North Fulton will tell you how much better off e will be as Milton County.

Also I'm waiting for them to blame this on Roswell, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Milton and Johns Creek like they blame everything else on North Fulton.
