The Battle 4 Atlantis Game 3 Postgame Report

Wouldn't most coaches scout and somewhat game plan every team in a tournament?

Most coaches have assistants preparing scouting reports for either team they could potentiall face. At least that's what my coaches did when I played.

That makes sense. My post was really more of a question than statement.

The positive I take away from these last two games is not that Tennessee won, but the manner in which they did it. Both games were decisive.

Agreed. Trap game IMO coming up with Tennessee Tech but we have a week off to get ready. Then the biggest game of the season so far Wichita State the following week. I'm ready.

I agree, and that's also the reason our losses were really bad. If you only look at the L in regards to the first Xavier game, it's not a huge deal. If you look at the box score, that loss is very disconcerting. Same with UTEP except they are an even worse team than Xavier.

Positives:

-Not losing to UTEP at home or something like that.
-Beating two power conf. teams. Handily.
-Another year in the weight room for Darius Thompson. Man, that kid is about as thick as me, and that's not saying much. But, I guess this last thing we really didn't accomplish in the confines of this tourney. But, just saying.

While we're talking basketball, does anyone on here remember Porter Roberts? He was a star player in Chattanooga back when I was in high school there. He ended up going to Purdue and was the point guard on those really good Gene Cady teams back in the early 90's. I remember watching him play with Cuonzo Martin on some of those teams (Martin was the shooting guard).

Nice memories. I've been living off of memories recently as a Vols fan. Having to dig into non-UT memories to compensate for my frustration from football recently. HA!

He played at CSAS in Chattanooga.

Yeah, I remember that. I played in an AAU League one summer against him. I was on a team with T'shombe High, another star player from Brainerd H.S. Those were some good years. Back when I could shoot a basketball and play for hours without feeling like I was run over by a car the next day! Oh, to be young again!

He was a good one. They were state runner up in 1990 or 91 I believe.

Good win. I wish I could have seen it, but had no TV in Nashville so no comments from me.

Stokes has been playing big boy ball the last 2 games, just stop dribbling every damn time. DT...do we crown him yet. Lol Seriously kid looked good, needs a little work on the handle. If you would have told me we win like that with Jordy non existent I would have slapped you. As Z said, Maymon has looked very Maymon like, great to see. I love me some Armani, but AJ is making it hard for him to get minutes.

Now coach: I was pretty vocal in my displeasure with the UTEP game, but maybe that game was a gift in him seeing what are or strengths. Vast improvement from that game, I am impressed. Now lets keep it rolling.

Have I mentioned that I loved the PG play today? Cause I really loved the PG play today.

Armani hasn't been given a chance. If you watched practice you would see that Armani had indeed earned minutes. I don't see you suggesting Hubbs earn minutes.

Are you saying you practice with the team? I'm pretty damn sure his minute allotment is based on his performance in practice. If that's the case, then your post makes no sense unless you're a coach or something, and have tangible evidence of Moore outplaying Davis.

Moore played the last 6 minutes or so and looked like a damn spaz, AJ has clearly been the better player.
