Jeff is on a tear this season. It's the Jeff and Jimmie show or can we say it's the HMS show? All the HMS drivers have won at least one Cup race this season. AWESOME! Will it happen next season with Jr getting help from the HMS team? Only time will tell!
GO JEFF! Grab that #5 title this season. I think Jeff has a chance to break the total titles of 7 and can end up #2 overall in wins. He has 81 and is only 26 away from taking over second place. If he wins 3 races a year for the next 10 years he'll do it.
Not sure why this question was asked, why you said you had a better question when there hadn't even been a question asked yet, or who Danical Patrick is, but Jr. has him beat by over 7 years.no doubt Gordon is the best driver in NASCAR and arguably the best of all-time...
I have a better question, who will win first? Danical Patrick in the IRL or Dale Jr. in Nextel Cup??
Stewart, or any other current or future driver, won't touch 80+ wins. There might not even be another guy get to 70 or 75.If he is in for the long haul, no doubt he'll get his wins.
So Gordon gets beat about 84% of the time. That says to me that variables involving the engine and chassis have a far greater impact on the outcome of the race than how good the driver is. The stats show Gordon is the most successful and is no doubt among the best drivers based on observation ie.He doesn't put his car into the wall every week like Mikey Waltrip.Tony Stewart
has pretty good equipment.Jeff Gordon has the best, most consistant, most reliable equipment in the sport
backed up by the best R&D in the sport especially with the COT.Only the 24 and 48 are set up chassis wise week in and week out to move right to the front when the green flag drops. There is a lot of credit to be spread around that attributes to Gordon's success.
The statement that Jeff Gordon is THE best driver is opinion not fact.
