Georgia - OK.... They proved it on the field this season - And came out un-defeated.
LSU - NO WAY!!!!! -- Lost their first game to Florida State; Tennessee destroyed them in Death Valley!; (yeah, they beat BAMA & "rushed the field' after beating Ole Miss); -- But losing to Texas A&M is inexcusable!

We have seen this take place for Tennessee before...... Several losses to Florida (at the beginning of the season) -- Only to look like the better team at the end: And MISS the SEC Championship Game - Again!!!!! -- So damn FRUSTRATING!!!!!

"Divisional Play" can really be a BUMMER!!!!

So, it SHOULD be: Georgia -vs- Tennessee! (even without Hendon Hooker - The product on the field SPEAKS!)........ (And even if I had to stomach Georgia -vs- Alabama: I would still be more willing to accept it)....
But NO WAY (win or lose) is LSU the second best team in the SEC This Year!!!!

GO VOLS!!!!!

When you go by over all SEC standings, UT is #2 in the SEC.

With 3 losses I don't think anyone is saying they are the 2nd best team. Just because they won the west doesn't qualify them for that. AL is still the best team in the west. IMO its GA #1 and TN-AL tied for 2.

Late season loss to USCe is also inexcusable. Not sure UT looks like the better team at the end but I suppose at least as good as LSU. A&M was a bonehead call away from beating Bama but I agree they have looked like shite most of the year.
I'm hearing that divisional play will go away when TX and OK join the conference which will free it up for the top two teams to play for the SECCG. Personally glad we're not in it. In the event we took a 3rd loss it would likely kick UT out of a NY day bowl.

Divisions are stupid... have ALWAYS been stupid... and will continue to be STUPID!!! Ever since '92 when SC and Ark joined the league we've RARELY had the 2 best teams in the conference play in Atlanta. Everyone was all excited back then. Not me. I've always thought that permanent opponents, etc was just dumb. Well... Here we are.

Solves itself when they eliminate division play. Of course then it will come down to how scheduling is done and who gets screwed with a hard slate.
Yep this is a potential issue. Glad I don't have to be on the committee that makes out the schedules. They will have to try to schedule as equally as possible but when you have a team that is expected to be good take a flop it will inherently give an advantage to those that play them (like aTm this year). Arkansas and FL also took a step back this year. The SEC may still win the majority of the National Championship but I think it's about to get a lot harder to go undefeated.
What I haven't heard is how many conference games. Maybe nine now? May make it impossible for meaningful out of conference games going forward.

Sounds like this will be solved when Tex-ass and Oklahoma join
Agreed.. I think it will probably help us in the long run .. the East vs West only helps Bama and Georgia instead of making it a level playing field imo.. it’s like you have to be the best twice 😂

UT losing to South Carolina was worse!

The SC loss destroys your argument.

Im certain you dont think they want the schedule as equal as possible.

As much as I detest LSU and their fans I hope the SECCG is a snooze fest with 17-16 LSU win...
Georgia can then move to the playoffs at 12-1, lose in the first round TCU. 😁
I'll drink to that scenario.

There have been a few years where the West was very top heavy and really better than the East. The East rep was not even top three one year and yet the East leader was the rep.

Yeah somebody is going to mess around and get a 5-6 game combination of UGA, Bama, UT, Fla, LSU, Auburn, OU, TX, or OM. Man that would suck to pull any 6 out of that group to be half your schedule. This would be on top of the 3 games vs teams that are randomly good like Ark, State, KY, USC, or Mizzou. Honestly I don't think anyone would be going undefeated. Hell we're gonna need a playoff just for the SEC title.

The west has had this argument for years. Bottom line, if we took care of our business we would be in.

Being in the championship game doesn't mean LSU is the second best team in the sec. They are. Considered the best team in the sec west as we measure such things

As much as I dislike the big 10, I would be a fool to think Purdue was their second or third or probably even 4th best team just because they are in the championship game.
