When you go by over all SEC standings, UT is #2 in the SEC.
That 63 points we gave up in ColDUMBia is the most points scored on an SEC team in 2022 but we're a solid #2 huh?

Thanks for pointing that out, I feel so much better about our season now.

Not trying to point fingers or anything, but based on the universal standard of sports he is right. TN and AL are tied in win/loss records and we have the first tie-breaker which is a win in head to head competition. The SC game was an embarrassment for sure, but do you not feel good about our season? Missed opportunities aside, a 10 win season in what I think most of us considered a rebuilding year is an outstanding season in my opinion. There are a few things to fix for sure, but nothing that can't be fixed with the right Jimmies and Joes. I think this is the start of something great.

Regardless if solid #2 or not. The facts are UT is still 2nd in overall standings to end the season.

Georgia - OK.... They proved it on the field this season - And came out un-defeated.
LSU - NO WAY!!!!! -- Lost their first game to Florida State; Tennessee destroyed them in Death Valley!; (yeah, they beat BAMA & "rushed the field' after beating Ole Miss); -- But losing to Texas A&M is inexcusable!

We have seen this take place for Tennessee before...... Several losses to Florida (at the beginning of the season) -- Only to look like the better team at the end: And MISS the SEC Championship Game - Again!!!!! -- So damn FRUSTRATING!!!!!

"Divisional Play" can really be a BUMMER!!!!

So, it SHOULD be: Georgia -vs- Tennessee! (even without Hendon Hooker - The product on the field SPEAKS!)........ (And even if I had to stomach Georgia -vs- Alabama: I would still be more willing to accept it)....
But NO WAY (win or lose) is LSU the second best team in the SEC This Year!!!!

GO VOLS!!!!!
If this was in the future where Sankey wants to go with no divisions, Tennessee vs UGA would be the matchup for Saturday.

I just hope the scheduling is done fairly. Kinda BS when Georgia draws Auburn and Miss State and we get Bama and LSU. Georgia could sleepwalk through their schedule until they played us.

Purdue isn't the 2nd or 3rd or even 4th best team in the Big Ten. It's stupid but that's how it's been since the divisions were split.

If only there was a tiebreaker to determine which one is better: Alabama or Tennessee.

If they’d played head to head we’d know. Bamas crossover games where UT& Vandy
Tennessee crossovers Bama & LSU so who had toughest schedule?
How did Bama do vs UGA oh wait.

When the SEC decided to go to the 2 divisions back in the 90's the thinking was the East/West winners would be the 2 best teams in the SEC but that thinking was proven flawed right away when UF and UT were the 2 best teams in the SEC. That flaw still exists today which I believe is why the SEC is going away from divisions when TX-OK come over.
