The Big East...

Yep, and I think the ACC is a distant 2nd

Yep, in terms of compelling story lines and overall drama, the big east is the awesomest this year. I would love to have the ACC/Big East Challenge start back up next year, but I know it'll never happen.

They are a compelling league but I have a feeling they will be dropping like flies before the Final Four.

Exactly what country are the teams that are going to beat them being imported from? They certainly aren't here.

Hat, do you think the Big East is going to have three teams in the FF? Odds of that happening are slim to none. Odds of getting two aren't much better. They're obviously beatable.

Look at the number of times in the last ten years that a conference has had multiple teams in the Final Four. Then, realize that the Big East this year is better than all of those leagues.

There have been two teams from the same conference in 8 of the last 10 Final Fours.

How many times have 3 #1 seeds made it to the Final Four? (2 times) How many times have 4 #1 seeds made it? (once). My point being: IF the BE has three #1 seeds it is unlikely that all of them make it BECAUSE they are #1 seeds. Not knocking the BE just saying that sometimes its harder for all those #1 to actually get there. I'll be shocked if they get more than two.

A great league, but quite possibly the most overvalued conference since The Eugenics Committee convened back in the mid 20th century.

The beauty of the hype is that when a lower-seed team beats a higher seed team it is a mark of the conference's quality; if a high seed team justifies its rank it is a mark of just how tough that top-line is.

I think he's got a point; They'll all be playing eachother by the Sweet 16.

Does anybody else they finally just need to break the Big East up into two leagues? This is getting ridiculous.

You're acting as if Pitt, UCONN, and Louisville are the only Big East teams that can make the Final Four.

I can't remember who they credited the quote to (Huggins I believe), but one of the coaches last night said that it'd be more difficult to make a run through and win the Big East tournament than it would be to make it to the Final Four.

I don't think I can argue it either.

It was Huggins. He talking about the prospect of having to beat Pitt, UCONN, and Louisville on consecutive nights to win the Big East.

The Big East has /at least/ SIX real good teams--Pitt, Connecticut, Louisville, Syracuse, Marquette and Villanova. There is a good chance that two will make it to the final four--but which is impossible to say and a factor of the regions and competition within each. Some of these teams could certainly face each other in the Sweet 16.
