The Big East...

It was Huggins. He talking about the prospect of having to beat Pitt, UCONN, and Louisville on consecutive nights to win the Big East.

To hell with that. It'd probably be better to take it to the house and get an extra few days rest than put your team through that before the tournament.

The Big East has /at least/ SIX real good teams--Pitt, Connecticut, Louisville, Syracuse, Marquette and Villanova. There is a good chance that two will make it to the final four--but which is impossible to say and a factor of the regions and competition within each. Some of these teams could certainly face each other in the Sweet 16.
Marquette doesn't belong in the real good category without Dominic James.

I know their record isn't what the others' records are, but WVU will be no fun in the tourney.

There is at least one poster on the board that can back me up on calling WVU to win the Big East Tourney. Things are shaping up fairly for that to happen. I can see them in the Elite Eight with the right bracket. Hell, I can see them in the Final Four if they are in North Carolina's region.

I believe that(WVU being one of the elites in this conference) was my contention as early as 4 months ago. In fact I was even called out on it by the self-proclaimed 'genius' a few times recently.

The level of efficiency with which they play makes them a scary opponent on any night for any foe, though ruoff's streakiness still scares me. That said, I'll have them in my bracket faring well just based off the potential they bring to the table.

I think there is a rule that teams from the same conference can't meet until the E8.

You're acting as if Pitt, UCONN, and Louisville are the only Big East teams that can make the Final Four.

Agreed. Don't sleep on Syracuse or WVa. In fact, I'd pick one of these to make it to Detroit over Pitt.

You're not the self proclaimed genius?

Of course he is. He gives us wisdom along the lines of calling a team that finishes 7th in a league one of that conference's "elite." How can you beat that?

West Virginia's record against Louisville, UCONN, PITT, Syracuse, Marquette, and Villanova=2-8.

conveniently left out of that remark is my conditional mention of a certain wvu player no longer playing.

But where's the fun in that?
