If he wins against Missouri the Vols are in the NCAA tourney.

Cuonzo gets 1 more year.

Lose and the Vols would have to win the SEC tournament, which seems unlikely.

Cuonzo is fired.

Gone. Kaput. Just like Dooley.

This game determines Cuonzo's tenure at Tennessee.

It's a shame some people want him to fail.

Sounds eerily familiar to last year. We beat Mizzou to end the regular season, and most of us thought we were in at that point. Only then we **** the bed in the tourney and missed out on the Dance. Could easily happen again... You know how we play in the tourney... (Even under Pearl)

Disagree again. Lose this game, then make the SECT final by beating UF or UK (paired with a likely win over Arky)? That would put us back in IMO. We wouldn't need to win it.

It's a shame some people want him to fail.

I never wanted him to fail. But he already has. With this squad, squeaking into the tourney is still failing. Sorry. I'd need to see a Sweet 16 run to change my opinion.

:pepper::boobies::pepper::boobies:I'd love for BP to take over the reigns for our Vols. However, as long as Zo's our coach I'll be pulling for W's every night on the court. I've got a feeling Bruce's not running off somewhere if there's not an immediate opening for HC, being as he's doing just fine where he's sitting, so how 'bout let's just act like VFL's and pull for orange W's. No? Wait. I think there are some "yesses" out there.

Best case scenario:
1. Vols beat Mizzou
2. LSU beats GA, giving Vols #3 seed in SEC tourney
3. Vols make it to finals of SEC tourney
4. Vols make it to Sweet 16 in NCAA
5. Purdue hires CCM
6. Vols hire Bruce.

Just getting in the dance by the skin of one's teeth doesn't "do it" for me. They need to make some SERIOUS noise. Now, here's my thing......I feel like these boys could lose tomorrow or, definitely in the first round of the SEC. I also feel like (more than ever) that these guys are peaking at the right time (ala Butler). So, this efficates my problem with Zo. The talent is there, but who will show up and which direction will they go? What if it continues to come together and, for the first time, we truly gel and get "firecracker hot" at the at exactly moment

The right moment? Does that excuse the inconsistency and a suspect incoming class? Maybe. I'm anxious to see how this all falls out.

Yeah. I feel like giving Cuonzo an extension on his contract just for barely sliding into the tourney would be like if Hart had given Dooley an extension if he had beat Mizzou or Vandy in 2012 and made a terrible bowl game.

Exactly. I am all for the Vols winning but just don't see this coach making Vol BB as exciting as Bruce made it. My opinion and I'm stuck with it. Just like we'll be stuck with CCM if he backs into the dance.

Opinion or fact. Did this vision come to you in a dream or a conversation with the board, The AD, or President.

It's a shame some people want him to fail.

I don't think anyone (Vol fans) wants him to fail. Please provide links. There are probably one or two out there, but I do not think anyone wants him to fail.

I do think that many fans are very frustrated with the results and the position/place CCM's teams are at every year at this time.

When you look at our RPI, the number of quality wins, our bad loses, and without knowing what other teams on the bubble are going to do or without knowing the Selection Committee's criteria One could easily argue that a win against Missouri may not be enough. This team needs to win, win, win and win to ensure there is no question.

This team this year shouldn't be in the position that they are in as of today. No injuries to blame, Great SOS. Only one person is responsible and accountable for the team's failures and successes. Care to guess.

Wanting him to fail is not an option for any Vol fan.

Can we stop the Dooley comparisons. Dooley was below 500 every year. Cuonzo has won 60% of his games. I know he's no Coach K but he sure as heck ain't freakin Dooley.

They needed to win back in November & December. They needed to gut up at the beginning of conference play. WTH is wrong when we go to Vandy and get beat, but they come to TBA and we trounce them by 38? WTH is wrong when we travel to LSU and trounce them by 18 then a few days later we get beat by A&M at home? Dance or no dance, CCM fails to prepare this team time and time again. I am all for this team to get to the dance but I am aghast at the thought that CCM will be coaching this team next year. BBB.

Definitely make or break time. Got to win this one and a couple more for him to coach the Vols next year, IMHO.
Not pulling for him to lose, though.
GO VOLS!

Never doubt a Tennessee teams ability to lay an egg early in the SEC tournament regardless of who the coach is. I have come to loathe the SEC tournament. I hope we beat Mizzou, but if we do I will be really nervous.

There is no such word. One can defecate--and if you've been feeling bad that might solve a problem. And sometimes the Vols play like $h--. But let's hope that's not the case today--they need to win.

Everybody knows the SEC is weak, and that will work against us come selection time, especially with only, what, 1 good win all year. And who would have thought that would be Virginia, of all teams. Had we beaten kentucky or florida, we'd be ok--but we didn't. Va. Tech was on the bubble four straight years--and was not picked four straight years, and then they fired their coach, who is a better coach than Martin, IMO.

And both of there coaching careers rested on beating Mizzou

No one will ever know, but I had Dooley out before the Missouri game. Just too much going wrong. I wanted them to win but knew it sealed his fate when they lost. I agree that Dooley and Martin aren't quite comparable because I believe Dooley coached us in the worst 3 year stretch in school history. But I understand why people say it.

And look where they are 2 years removed from that. Just be careful what you wish for. Hiring Bruce would be the reason to let him go. I am not that confident that we could find a great coach with the money we will pay. JMO.
