The Blue Print is in.

The blueprint for this years team definitely. We play soft coverage and will give up 6-10 yards per play if it means that we don’t give up a big splash play. So teams take what we give them, go on long drives and don’t give us the ball. Its exactly what Missouri did and Georgia did it even better. Until we are willing to gamble and play man coverage, other teams will do it as well.

The blueprint at this point seems to be, UT under Heupel better play with a lead because when we go down 10+ points the game is over and often turns into a blowout. We are a one pitch offense and if the other teams shuts us down early we have not shown much ability to make adjustments and come from behind. The only game I can think of when we were down early 10+ pts and came back to win was last year against Pittsburgh. If we are not efficient and don't move the chains on offense or score it puts our defense in bad positions. Pass coverage from both secondary and linebackers has been poor for 3 years.
