The Braves Thread

If you look at the ML roster it's pretty fulle right now. 1-9 are set for the next few years. (Assuming Dansby re signs.) The rotation also is pretty full. Fried, Kyle, Spencer,Ian. That 5th spot can either be a journeyman or Muller or Soroka. The pen is the only spot we are really gonna turn guys over at. I don't hate trying to get another group of prospects in the minors for the long term to replace a few of these guys in the future.

Waters does clear a 40 man spot…maybe something? Idk just weird move as a contender. The 35th pick is nice and valuable but wouldn’t you rather trade that package for Jorge Lopez or Josh Staumont for the next couple years?

The farm system is a major problem. This move shows fixing it is at their top of their list. Vodnik is a relief candidate within the next month or so and Yates is coming.

good idea... yes let's have these monsters bunt that have been batting clean-up their entire life of playing baseball and never taught to bunt
I stand corrected as I forgot that Arcia and Gosselin, who would have been in that same position, are certified monsters with a bat in hand.

vs RHP
Acuna RF
Swanson SS
Olson 1B
Riley 3B
D’Arnaud/Contreras C
Rosario LF
Ozuna DH
Cano 2B
Harris CF

vs LHP same except swap in Duvall for Rosario and Arica for Cano. 1-4 should be locked in and 8-9 should be as well with 5-7 being flexible depending on the pitching matchups. I like Harris at 9 it’s like having a 2nd leadoff hitter. I personally would go with Duvall most of the time in left but I get the feeling that’s going to be a platoon situation

mike to 1 or leave him there
With Harris at 9, there’s a good chance he or Acuna or Dans will be on base in front of Matt and Austin. Also, though he looks like nothing is too big for him, batting ninth takes away any pressure, especially for his first year.
