The Braves Thread

3 HS RHP in the world of TINSTAAPP is interesting

Maybe one day they’ll be as good as Blade Tidwell
I guess they want the volume but damn it’s tough with impact bats on the board. We are like 4 for our last 50 with high level pitching prospects it seems lol

The good news? We got long term options at CF, RF, 3B, 2B, 1B and C in terms of bats. And with Grissom you hope he takes care of either LF or SS. So that’s 7 positions the Braves have an answer for through at least 2025.

Well Langeliers and Shewmake are the last hitters picked in the first round.

This group does really after the first pick. We’ll see how it shakes out. They’re definitely trying to fill the lower minors with projectable arms like Smith-Shawver.

This line of thinking is NOT how you manage a farm system ha

Gilbert gonna be in Houston pretty quickly with their outfield situation outside of Tucker. That one is going to hurt
I’m willing to give Eddie a little bit more of a leash but I’d probably take Gilbert in the OF as early as next year if not next week ha. The offensive ceiling may be “limited” but the floor is locked and pretty high.

I love Gilbert too, but the Braves were never linked to him. They were going pitcher regardless, and I think they really wanted Lesko.

I hope they “really wanted” who they drafted because they put some tension in their hamstrings for at least 3 of them.

Murphy was an underslot but dominated the last summer against top competition, they had Ritchie ranked right behind Murphy and were shocked he fell, Phillips is my least favorite but was considered first round before TJS and they view Burkhalter as a starter.

Oh I’m not saying this should be how it’s managed every year by the way. I’m just saying I can imagine them thinking to reload the farm with pitching first with the long term idea being “hey we are in good shape with the MLB team regarding position players, let’s go a little pitcher heavy this year.”
