It’s weird the way the whole vibe of the team changed in one offseason.

I think it has probably been a slow degradation since the 2022 offseason. Losses of key personnel (either to other teams or injury) and playoff losses. Ronald and Ozzie were shellshocked 3 innings into G1 of the NLCS last year because they weren't hitting Ranger Suarez.

Freddie was about as consistent as the sun rising every day, but other than never wanting to take a day off, I don’t recall him being lauded as a leader. That was often a hot topic in this very thread.

That bolded part is a pretty big component of leadership. I think Freddie was pretty vocal too, but being vocal doesn't mean anything if you don't lead by example.
