Tate strikes me a little more as "awesome when the other 2 are Smith and Egbuka" than a full-on DUDE but I know we just need talent influx overall.

What a complaint to have. Maybe I need a second cup of coffee.

Carnell Tate is not leaving that system entering his draft eligible year to come here.
If we can’t compete for Branch and Rogers, we can’t compete with Ohio State for a player already on their roster.
We will sign mid major guys with eligibility.

He’s almost guaranteed 1000 yards beside smith next year if healthy. Not happening

I don’t buy the “can’t compete” part. Neither really gave us a chance. They competed for Heard last year and Sanders this year. I think they’re more selective than they should be, but they can definitely pay up for one guy in the portal.

Tate doesn’t make sense, but someone blocked by Smith and Tate does, like Inniss.

Our NIL is not at the level we have been told it is. There are internal discussions happening around what needs to happen to become more competitive.

We are also unwilling to play by the same rules everyone else is playing by. You will never see a player enter with a do not contact tag and sign with Tennessee. That is an aspect of the NIL game and is being discussed.

It isn’t but they’re still getting guys like Nico, Sanders, Matthews, Faizon, etc.

I assume they are going to ramp it up because Heupel actually cares about winning.

Fear of NCAA retaliation is an issue right now. We’ve still got the Pruitt impacts and we aren’t exactly in the AAs good graces. Tennessee is always going to get players. We are getting better players now than we did ten years ago. But there is another level for us to get to. Some things have to change to get to that place. I do believe we have a group up there that wants to get to that place.
