The Butcher takes on Alabama

Damn, I like Butcher. He is already one of my top 3 favorite Vols. With Butcher and Cherry both on the field, I almost feel sorry for opposing teams, almost that is.

I love confidence, and I want a team that believes they can and should beat anyone.

There's a fine line between that and classless arrogance. I think your coach determines what side of the line your team falls on.

I think Butch is going to recruit and produce confident young men that come out expecting to win, and represent our University well.

I love having this mentality back. The Dooley mentality of "we're gonna fight hard for a half, and then lay down and cry when things get even slightly bad" has to go away. We need guys who will fight tooth and nail for 4 quarters. The great programs, especially the rebuilding projects that succeed are full of guys that are just fighters on the football field. Never say die attitude.

I like it...half the battle is won!

many things are half the battle. I am concerned with ALL the battle.

I like Butcher's confidence. However, if he is going to talk it now, he needs to walk it right up Bama's spine.

I love the attitude also. From Butcher's viewpoint KM was getting jumped by the bama commits so he responded the only way he could. What would have been funny is if when KM was rolling the dude over the dummy he would have yelled roll tide.

These 14 & 15 kids coming in are ready to compete and help TN get back towards the top of the SEC again. I believe they will but I don't think it will be this yr. Its going to take time but we will get there again

Pretty sure the Bama kid did yell roll tide as he was being rolled....I would be embarresed if I was a tide fan.

"Can't wait to whip alabama's as with my boys", the culture of winning is being established via recruiting.

It's all good to talk the talk, a little trash talking never hurt anyone. If a person is going to do that though, they must be able to walk the walk too. Lately, UT hasn't been able to back anything up. If you aren't able to win and get positive results, then it becomes a problem. You then just look like a dumb, immature, foolish hater.

"They say I'm cocky, and I say what...it aint bragging mother f'er if you back it up!"

Yeah, "walking the walk" We found out about that last season.

All week long, we thought that we could take Florida down and we were hyped up about it. However; in the 3rd quarter when their running game hit its stride, our hype faded.

So, yes, we need to "walk the walk" Actually the best approach is to have a silent confidence.

As if Bama needs any bulletin board material. He should have just went ahead and referred to them as the red team while he was at it.

Oh no... Now they're going to try to beat us. That "red team" crap last year was the biggest AJ Mccarron drama queen shat ever...wonder how he feels knowing that Katherine Webb has less estrogen than him.

That's some scary smack on twitter. Imagine how scary he would be if he had been good enough to have actually been invited to the combine?

Don't worry. The camp 'MVP' will get to know Mr. Butcher intimately when he's lying flat on his ass in the dirt.

As Barret's lying there wondering what happened to the football, both Kahlil and Butcher will whisper in his earhole:

"the tide has rolled and gone, so get off my *****ing beach"
