Kids giving plenty of praise, naming us their number 1 school, and many prospects visiting that we previously thought we didn't have a chance with. I'm enjoying every minute of it. The best thing about all this, ESPN hasn't had us as a negative headline one time since Dooley has taken over. Must be a good thing in the recruits eyes it seems.

Not too positive Eric, that kinda stuff will get you in trouble round here.

Actually a mild-manored, posi-post. Not too far either way bois, keep em down the middle. All kidding aside, good post.

What is the number one thing recruits are praising? I keep going back to James Stone and how he did a 180 once he talked to Dooley. Did Dooley have a rep at LSU as the closer?

I think they like Dooley's straight shooter no bull sh*t attitude. Also he talks about growing them as people and not just as athlete's which is the kinda stuff momma likes to hear.

Also I think he just probably is a smooth talker and can relate to people really well and comes of really genuine.

Then combine that with assistants with great knowledge of the game, and experience getting players to the NFL or training them while in the NFL, and that is a quality recruiting system!

I'm pretty pumped to see what kind of players this staff can sign. Early on, it looks like it could be heading in a good direction.

I think CDD's calming a lot of the naysayer's apprehensions about his recruiting abilities.

Here's to hoping that he'll do the same thing with their apprehensions on his coaching abilities...i.e. WIN.

we are not being camped by a lot of elite players so the enthusiasm some players have for this staff is about the fact that no other school has shown interest or very little so yeah they are going to be high on the praise because it validates them. We are a long way from even a top 20 class, maybe even a top 30 so I would as Larry David would say Curb my Enthusiasm.

Dude, its June. We have just as good a class right now as we did this time last year....and just as much interest. We have REASON to be excited, yet a lot of people still want to whine.

do you even know who's at the camp? This post smells just like your "No coaches went to Kerbyson's game" thread

Last year's list of campers was unbelievable. Elite guy after elite guy. Just look at the DE's who made it to camp. Willis, Miller, Stripling, Copeland, Smith, etc...

Kiffin's commits at this point last year

Jacques Smith- Feb 4th 4 star would have committed if I was the coach of the VOLS

Risean Broussard- April 17th - 3 star didn't qualify

Jose Jose- May 12th - 3 star who really turned out to be a 2 star
J.C. Copeland- May 19th - Big get
Bruce Irvin- May 21st - was an unknown at the time of the commit
Pat Harris- May 22nd - Terrible
Ralph Williams- May 23rd - 3 star

John Brown- June 3rd - Big commit
Channing Fugate- June 19th - 3 star
Zach Fulton- June 29th - 3 star
Marquis Pair- June 29th - 2 star

So really Kiffykins wasn't doing much better at basically the same time last year.

Info thanks to LV on TOS

just trying to ease into posting without much conflict......I have been visiting this board for a while and I have seen a disturbing trend of new posters being crucified for giving their opinion...

With all due respect,
3 4*'s committed at this time last year (Smith, Copeland and Brown) looks quite different to me than 0 this year.

Just don't be overly optimistic or pessimistic. Also, there is a poster by the name of Hatvol, don't challenge him. :good!:

There is also a Rod Wilks :worship:worshiping:worship: everyday at sun-up, make sure you are there.

And how many of all those "elite" guys did we actually get? I get your point....but there is some great talent at our camps this year as well.
