The Canadian Dollar is now worth more then the U.S. Dollar

that's funny. i graduated from West Point and don't remember that little exercise.

I could see DCSOPS running that scenario, but there are so many permutations that conceding defeat is silly. Invading China I can see the problems with their sheer manpower, but them trying to project that force and enforce their worldview is laughable.

You have to know the U.S. has done war game simulations against China, whether you took part in them or not. They are the largest Communist country in the world.

They are over 4 times bigger then the U.S and that is the reason, they won the simulation I read.

Estimated populations of the 2 countries:

China: 1,321,851,900
U.S.: 301,139,950

That's over 4:1.

You think the U.S. hasn't done war game simulations against China? That's not what I've read and doesn't make sense either, considering they are over 4 times bigger then the U.S and the largest communist country in the world.

WEST POINT is not running the scenario, but you said they are. That was patently untrue.

I said the DCSOPS is running the scenario. Again, I am certain that any invasion strategy has met with defeat in mainland China, but we're never going to contemplate that. China, away from her borders, has huge military problems. They have no platform to truly project force because they have not cared for so long. Any fight on the seas or in other regions will find the Chinese being destroyed. If they want a stranglehold on the far East, we might eventually acquiesce, but I truly don't think that's realistic. Their single greatest need is water for their masses and they will eventually seek it elsewhere. We're unlikely to intervene. If they step too far, we will, on our terms with conventional forces and tac nukes as a possibility. Strat nukes are always the last option.

Any fight we would contemplate with the Chinese would find us at a huge advantage, regardless of what the guys at West Point are simulating.

China strong point is inside there borders. Outside there borders, there toast. With there HUGE military they can defend there borders man on man no problems but I think Russia is the one we would have to worry about.

Also, the Euro is getting really bad, as if it wernt already. Seriously they are rasing our COLA pay over here to make up for it. That isn't rare, but for them to do it almost every month is crazy

almost every month, just when we think it's going to level, it changes again and they spend the next few months playing catch up. It's worse here then in Germany, but england still takes the cake with the GBP

What scares me is the dollar could be spiraling out of control. I hope I'm out of this country before that happens, though. Viva la Australia!?

Just to give some reassurances on here.

US Navy fleet larger than all countries of the world combined fleets.

and every Canadian will remind you of this fact when they find out you're from the US. Their inferiority complex would be cute if not so dang annoying

and that's a far bigger deal than most are willing to admit. additionally, we'll have air superiority anywhere we go. That drastically limits any enemy's ability to fight us anywhere but their own soil.

Yeah the US Navy statistic isn't even close. Its somewhere around the US fleet being almost three times the size of all countries combined add to that NATO allies and it gets real ugly!

As for air supremecy, not my department but the F22 Raptors are freaking scary!

Where is the Canadian Loonie (sp?) at now compared to the dollar. I'm hearing that it is expected to slip back below the dollar in the near term.
