The CBS camera…

Shouldn’t have put it there. You have two referees watching the ball to make sure that it goes through. Is it in the river too?

It's up there for us, not the refs! Who wants to just rely on the refs anyway :p :D

I read an article a day or so before the game saying the AD had ordered replacement goalposts to make sure there would be goalposts for this week's game. They were planning ahead, so you've gotta think they talked to CBS about it beforehand, too. The only ones caught by surprise were Bammers!

Hard to believe a camera costs over $100K these days since you can just about film a movie on a good iPhone.
Well the ones on goal post even in 98 were able to pivot and what not to get that angle of ball going over it. I am not arguing with you though as I believe everything on earth is over priced. I am confident CBS overpaid for it but when thats the market they couldn't go cheap or competitor networks will have the edge.

I just paid a hair short of $10 freaking bucks for the chepest Burger combo at Milo’s. I know what you mean about overpriced 😬😬😬😬
Even those of us who design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress these days 😉

Wish I had cut and pasted it, but, I watched a video from right under the field goal and the ball dropped in a couple of inches above from the crossbar. It couldn't have been closer. Thin as a page in history turning. Go Vols!

oh, I know. It’s just the risk you take imo. If it had been some local business that lost said camera I’d feel for them. But, it was CBS. Take it out of the broadcast teams cut since they are obnoxious anyway.

I fear we will miss CBS. With no competition for SEC games, ESPN quality (never great to begin with) will drop precipitously
The ABC game of the week presentation is light-years better than CBS though. They also are more apt to take the 1st pick of the slate of match-ups and make the 8pm game and not the 3:30.

Hell, I miss the TBS broadcast.......

Hell, I miss the Jefferson Pilot Game of the Week. The Three Daves were solid gold. When you needed some announcers to talk you through three excruciating hours of a 12PM Tennessee-Vanderbilt or Tennessee-Kentucky game - (so, basically, the entire month of November once upon a time) - you couldn't ask for any better than the Three Daves.

Listening to Full Ride on Serius, Rick Neuhesiel (sp) said that CBS lost a 6 figure camera on top of the goal post that was brought down in glorious fashion. 1st, good to offset Gary D’s salary and, 2nd who has it or is it still in the river?
Here's a live feed from the camera. It sleeps with the fishes.

I am sure it was insured
There’s a policy exclusion that reads “In the event that Bama gets pimp slapped in Neyland and gets half a hundred hung on their ass, coverage is void. However if a single Bama fan can prove they bathed before said Pimp Slapping, coverage may be considered.”
We all know none of the showered soooo 🤷🏼‍♂️
