1. Thank you Trae Golden for taking the ball to the basket. Keep doing that, and good things will happen for you and the team.

2. Jordan McRae's D was horrid tonight. Just absolutely horrid. The effort has to be better.

3. Skylar's becoming a very good shooter. However, I don't think he's a guy you run plays for. JMO.

4. Cam forced things way too much. When the shot ain't falling, don't keep forcing it. He did a good job on Wattad though.

5. This offense needs better spacing. I don't know if it was because of double teaming of the post, but they didn't do a great job of spreading the floor. They had their moments, but not enough consistency in that department.

6. Renaldo Woolridge continues to be very active. 7 points and 7 boards with a lot of energy. That's what we need.

7. This team has gotten better, and your starting wings went 6-26 tonight. Golden the last two games has gotten back in the swing of things. Maymon didn't do much offensively, but dominated the glass. I'm really excited about Wednesday's game, and it should be a dandy.

8. even though double teamed, Maymon needs to put up more shots

I would have liked a few more isolation plays at the top of the key for him. Problem was he was in foul trouble tonight also.

This team keeps improving every game. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the year unfolds.

Good win, but same old, same old we took way too many threes.

Nervous about Wednesday, hopefully Golden keeps working on tonight's performance in that one. Hopefully Maymon has a repeat performance of the first matchup as well.

Most of the 3's were decent shots. Didn't go in.

Golden has played well the last two games.

We had taken 24 at the half. That's way too many. We can get decent looks from 3 any time we want. We don't need to do that against anyone, Memphis especially.

Yeah, we've got a couple of guys playing well. Hopefully they all keep it up.

I agree it's too much. Put most of them were decent looks.

Tatum took way too many tonight.

wtf is wrong with Maymon?? The inconsistancy is boring and old. He's quick for a big man and drives to the right about as good as any big lefty I've ever seen. Guy has all the tools in the world to be a double double player every single night. I'm going to be really confused if he torches Memphis again.

The problem is the mindset of this team.
82% of shots last night at one point were 3 pointers.
Guys would rather throw up 3 point prayers than drive and dish.
Until that changes Maymon won't get the touches he needs and it won't fly in the SEC.

Not too mention this is a guard oriented offense to begin with.

Teams are doubling Maymon. They are collasping on him when he drives. They are focusing the defensive attack on him.

So it's hard to get him plenty of looks.

My biggest problem with Maymon last year was his tendency to force the issue offensively due to his lack of playing time. In other words, he tries to maximize every touch into points and took bad shots as a result.

He has done a good job of staying away from that this year for the most part, but his frustration is starting to show. His lack of touches despite plenty of playing time is starting to bubble over and the result is some bad offensive possessions from him.

I can't fault his frustration with the guards inability or unwillingness to work the ball to him, but he needs to be more judicious with his shot selection within the frame of the offense, as do the guards who jacked up 39 3's last night.

Also, part of it is that you have six guards getting playing time. Four of them are freshmen/sophomores playing in a first year offense. There were times last night they were confused and that has happened almost all year.

Yes, I have let it be known that I feel he should shorten the bench.

Golden, McBee, McRae, Tatum, and Washpun (in spurts) at the guards.
Hall, Wooly, Maymon, Yemi in the paint.

Work Stokes in and make him earn Wooly and Maymon's minutes, and maybe a few of Tatum's if he demonstrates an ability to play some at the SF position.

Disclaimer: Admittedly, he would play the position differently, and have a different role offensively at the SF than Tatum currently does. There would be situations where we could benefit from playing a bigger lineup and Stokes handles the ball well enough to theoretically play the SF in certain sets.

Best game I've seen them play in a while, and a ton of that has to do with Golden. He was a stud.

As for Tatum, every time he puts the ball on the floor it's bad news. He needs to be a spot up shooter, and nothing more. He makes Scotty Hopson look like Lebron James going to the basket. Two left hands.

Skylar was great, as was Renaldo, again. Woolridge needs more minutes, and more touches. He has great hands and is smart and active around the basket.

I feel everything til now has been considered preschedule.
Look at the rotation last night and I think you'll see who's going to be getting minutes.
We'll definitely see the final rotation Saturday. JMO

Richardson will play because despite his offensive woes, he's played solid defense so far.

Perhaps, but Richardson was in the game while it was still in doubt. Seems odd to bring in someone cold off the bench in the 2nd half in a tight game. CCM has had 15 or so games to nail down a rotation.
