The Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl: #11 Ole Miss (10-2) vs #10 Penn State (10-2) (ESPN, 12 PM ET)

Ole Miss’ offense is really well coached. They show a lot of zone read, but there are lots of wrinkles. They just went under center for the 2-pt conversion only to fake the run with motion to the right for a throwback to the left. Excellent call for points. They have PSU on the ropes rn. I hope Halze is watching. We were too vanilla this year.

Kiffin is an offensive wizard. I don’t think Hazel will be our OC for much longer

Two starting corners and all American OT are out for Penn State.
Thanks. I hadn't heard much about this one so I was wondering. It does take away from the game for me, but it has been pretty entertaining for one of the bigger bowls this year.

I get the vibe that Ole Miss is starting to pull away a little. B1G is not very good. Also SEC was interesting this year. Teams like Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Texas A&M were let downs but Missouri and Ole Miss really surprised.

We were vanilla bc we couldn’t exploit the center of the field. Look at Milton’s spray chart of where we threw and you’ll see that. Idk if we didn’t trust the qb to throw to the center of the field but we didn’t do it. I feel like Heupel probably called most of the plays as well.

Like him or hate him 11 wins at Oxford is a big deal.
It is. And yet everyone is questioning whether the portal strategy will work or not. But what they fail to see is that Ole Miss has had top 3 portal classes the last 2 seasons before this one. I'd say getting 11 wins has already proven its a working strategy.

Iowa fans should be getting really concerned seeing a tempo offense shred the top defense in the Big 10...
It's hard not to wonder what this game might suggest about our matchup with Iowa. We keep hearing how great Iowa's defense is. Penn State's defense is supposed to be even better. But they're not looking very impressive so far today.

This is what the SEC does. We always have losing record but the stronger SEC teams always win the big matchups. It is the 6-6 and 7-5 SEC bowl teams that always lose. Auburn shouldn't have been in a bowl game and it is clear.

A starting LB is out as well. I don't think the OL could possibly make that big of a difference but the last thing you need playing Ole Miss is to be missing your starting corners. I would've thought as competitors you play for that reason alone. Apparently #11 is their best defender in the front 7 and he is hurt.

After Kiffin dominance in the portal, next year his defense catches up with his offense. They just may have a chance to win it all if he has any good luck. I hate to say it as I can’t stand Kiffin, but he can flat out coach and recruit. He’ll probably stay at Ole Miss until Saban retires. Then Bama will come calling.

Truth. So here’s hoping that Nico allows us to rediscover the whole field.

Well, since you put that out there in the universe, I’ve had this gut feeling most of the week wrt our offense. We will see.
