Obama has made no secret of his plans to 'deconstruct America' in order to rebuild it 'closer to the heart's desire.' (from the Rubiyyat of Omar Khayam the Persian poet.)

Not that I even agree that it is presented in a debate format, but broad stokes cover a lot of issues and nit picking covers less from a weaker position.

Not to nitpick but the basic reason for passing such a bill (at least the reason presented to the public) is based on deception, flawed scientific theory, falsified data and just outrightly deceptive propaganda.

Basis for the need for this legislation dubious at best.

Is that why, although every country who is aiding is flying their national flag there, EXCEPT FOR AMERICA, becasue barry boy says we don't want to send the wrong siganl to the the Haitians???

Does anyone get why it would be sending the wrong message to fly our flag over our own base??

Certainly there are Businesses,big business for this. Admittedly they have a motive, but they are out there. Was reading earlier about the Nevada electric corporation and have posted strange bedfellows in other threads like Dow chemical and the solar industry and now Mr. Pickens who has been on board for some time.

What kind of corporations want the bill to pass and how much does that particular industry stand to profit?

Multi-national corporations are generally behind this bill because it gives them a consistent set of rules to even out competitiveness when they are having to face regulations of these sorts in other (European) countries. One example is Caterpillar, though they have pulled out of the alliance because they think its job is done.

For one the carbon trade exchanges stand to make $$ trillions and it will be people like you and I who will have to pay for this idiotic, unneccessary boondoggle.

I doubt that it will pass but don't count it out, Washington has definately taken leave of it's senses no doubt.
