The Coaches Hot Seat

I could see Bielema being in a very difficult position if they fail to become bowl eligible this season and it is a very real possibility with their remaining schedule. I still think he will get another year.

Bielema is actually the safest on the list and not because of performance. His buyout pays him over 15 million if he is fired anytime before 2018 and 8 million if fired before 2020. He's not going anywhere!

Coaches Hot Seat 2015
Silly list. These are all good coaches that just have to endure the ups and downs of a highly competitive conference. Some years stuff will go your way and you'll go 10-2 or 11-1. Other years stuff will go the other way and you'll go 6-6 or 7-5. As I learned during my 34 year professional career, "better" is the evil of "good enough".

Bielema doesn't have many friends among Arkansas fans but here's one

I think Bielema sticks around until 2017

IF that is true, the AD who signed it should be punched in the balls repeatedly that is a Nick Sabanesque buyout and the agent who negotiated it should be given a gold star haha

To think, that if you include Muschamp and Mullen, the SEC had 8 coaches last season with BCS bowl appearances as a HC. Muschamp was obviously fired at the end of the year and Mullen got his first in January, so they didn't all have a BCS bowl on their resume at the same time, but Mullen's was imminent. Spurrier, Richt, Muschamp, Mullen, Saban, Gus, Miles and Bielema. The Big 12 comes second closest with 6. The conference is loaded with great coaches.

Tends to get that way each and every year.

But he keeps coming back.

That's because they look at Richt's history and think, "we should get someone fresh in here"...and then they look at our turmoil and go, "eh, another year won't hurt anything."

Coaches Hot Seat is pretty awful at rating coaches.

That said, I do find that it's a useful list of all the coaches in college football. I sometimes browse over it to take a look at the records and such, but their algorithm just doesn't work right.

I would actually use Nebraska as a better example of what happens when you remove a consistent 9-10 win coach and throw someone else into the mix.
