None of those clowns ever went 13-1...
We had a record going where we never lost every SEC game during a whole season. I think we were battling that out with Ohio State ( too lazy to look it up), but I know Butch Jones accomplished that feat and put the dagger in the heart of that record. Broke my heart, really.

That was schools to have never lost 8 games in a season. Thanks Lyle.

That also was the first time since joining the SEC in 1933 that Tennessee did go winless.

I think you are seeing more patience now more than in the past 15 years.

Pittman, Napier, Venebles, Freeze, Gundy, and Norvell would have been fired already 5 years ago. 1 or more of these guys will be back next year under the guise of "Let's pay to get better players" than pay a buyout.....
I think it’s a combo of NIL deals, the portal, and coaching salaries going through the roof. Buyouts are massive now and now there’s lots of money going elsewhere too. And perhaps there’s understanding that giving something 4-5 years is more reasonable than firing someone every 3 years.
