The Cool POTUS

I don't really know but I've heard a lot of people say he was terrible and the worst President ever. The only Presidents I really remember besides Obama are Bush Jr. and Clinton and it just seems like Obama has been better than those 2 from what I can tell. Because Clinton lied about a sex scandal and Bush attacked the wrong country and stuff. Am I right?

Can you tell me what the fundamental differences, regarding policy measures (not 'coolness factor'), are between the manner in which Obama governs and that in which GWB governed?

Bush governed in a conservative republican way and Obama governs in a liberal democratic way.

Billy list the things that Mr. Obama has done good for our country. In your view.

ended the fake war to find weapons of mass destruction that Bush's people lied about.

increased requirements for car mileage from Bush's 22 MPG to 52 for the next round of cars. Now at 32.

ended dont ask, dont tell.

saved US auto industry.

saved world economy. (we gave $17 trillion in loans to banks, world wide, most were paid back already. provided FLOAT)

restored EPA.

during Obama's tenure, the US has become net exporter of energy.

just to name a few...

Two and a half years after he said he would; in the mean time, he escalated the war in Afghanistan, fought an air war in Libya, and is considering going to war with Syria.

increased requirements for car mileage from Bush's 22 MPG to 52 for the next round of cars. Now at 32.

Why do you think this is a good thing?

ended dont ask, dont tell.

Correct.

saved US auto industry.

Saved it? You mean he saved GM. He did not save Ford and he did not save any of the auto-manufacturing outside of the rust belt. Why should GM have been saved? You might as well say that Bush saved the banking industry in the US.

saved world economy. (we gave $17 trillion in loans to banks, world wide, most were paid back already. provided FLOAT)

First, these loans began in 2007. Most of this $17 trillion was lent by the Fed during GWB's presidency. Most of this $17 trillion has been paid back? I hardly think so. I challenge you to find data that shows that over $10 trillion of these loans has been repaid.

restored EPA.

Why is this a good thing?

during Obama's tenure, the US has become net exporter of energy.

You understand that this is due to the fact that the recession is causing a drop in energy consumption in America, right? It is not a result of some great surge in the energy industry.

not to mention Guantanamo Bay is still open. On the day he was sworn in, Obama signed an executive order committing to the closure, in one year, of the terrorist detention camp.

that's not cool

Well considering Airborne troops from Russia are set to take part in drills focused around targeting terrorists at Fort Carson between May 24 and May 31. This will be the first time Russian troops has train on U.S. soil so yeah I guess we would consider him a friend.

Those pics of Putin have made me become fascinated with him. I had heard his name before in the 08 election but I didn't really know who he was or what he looked like. Does he love tigers or something? What is his deal with tigers?

The shot of him standing over a dead polar bear does make him pretty boss in my books. And I'm not sure what is funnier Billy's very successful attempts at getting a rise from everyone, or the actual responses themselves.

Oh and for the record. Clinton was far and away cooler than Obama. I think Obama definitely has a swagger, but i'm telling you if you wanted some tang that night you'd much rather have Bubba as a wing man then Obama.

If I want someone to actually lead our country in an effective manner, Obama would definitely be staying home. (and Clinton could only go if he has a Republican Congress).

I would appreciate being taken more seriously and respected on here. I'm very interested in politics but I don't know a whole lot about political stuff.

Vladimir Putin was once head of the Soviet KGB, an organization that made the American CIA seem like a local bible study group.

So basically he spied on people in a crooked way to get secret information?

he arrested people and tortured them for doing nothing more than criticizing the government

history lesson ends here. If you want to use pictures to base your opinion on somebody, you're welcome to.

The KGB was beyond spying... while they did that. They were the secret police and were the ruling arm of the communist regime that ruled over the soviet bloc. This wasn't just Russia but all of Eastern Europe, parts of the Middle East, and a chunk of Asia.

And if you are truly and honestly trying to get a grasp on politics, that is really a journey you need to embark on your own. Pay attention to current events and do some research. Don't let anyone dictate your opinion, form your own.
