I've lived in PA my entire life. I don't know who you would be referring to in regards to "refusing to take responsibility" . I've never heard 1 person condone Sandusky or his actions. There WAS a contingent loyal to the university who was in denial for a while, but all of the major players are gone.Ugh I’m torn when Penn State plays. On one hand, my husband is an alum and I love him. On the other this is pedophile state university with fans and staff who still refuse to take responsibility.
I think my antipathy for them wins out
I live in PA and my husband is on the alumni board and I’ve met many board members and trustees including Jay Paterno. Several have insisted definitively that no one in the university did anything wrong, with the exception of Sandusky that they actually refuse to speak of. It’s insane to me.I've lived in PA my entire life. I don't know who you would be referring to in regards to "refusing to take responsibility" . My only issue is with the Paterno apologists. Maybe he didn't comprehend the seriousness of the situation, but he clearly knew. And the excuse that he told his boss about it is comical. NOBODY was bigger than Paterno in Happy Valley during his run. He could have and should have done more
Again though...tbe notion that the residents of the state of PA condone pedophilia is just silly.
Do they still say this? Are/were they subject to legal action if they do acknowledge wrongdoing? Are those people even still around?I live in PA and my husband is on the alumni board and I’ve met many board members and trustees including Jay Paterno. these people still say this, they are still major donors and trustees to the university, they themselves were not subject to legal action but they insist the university did not coverup child rape at all and that it was a witch-hunt. The only thing they believe the university did wrong was firing Paterno.Do they still say this? Are/were they subject to legal action if they do acknowledge wrongdoing?
