So it’s looking pretty likely that a few minutes into the 2nd half Penn St will have already scored 42 points.

I’d like to just post that Memphis might have one of my favorite current player names in CFB:

TE Joey Magnifico

Ugh I’m torn when Penn State plays. On one hand, my husband is an alum and I love him. On the other this is pedophile state university with fans and staff who still refuse to take responsibility.
I think my antipathy for them wins out
I've lived in PA my entire life. I don't know who you would be referring to in regards to "refusing to take responsibility" . I've never heard 1 person condone Sandusky or his actions. There WAS a contingent loyal to the university who was in denial for a while, but all of the major players are gone.

My only issue is with the Paterno apologists. Maybe he didn't comprehend the seriousness of the situation, but he clearly knew. And the excuse that he told his boss about it is comical. NOBODY was bigger than Paterno in Happy Valley during his run. He could have and should have done more

Again though...tbe notion that the residents of the state of PA condone pedophilia is just silly.

Dad grew up in Memphis (went to UT). Plus I hate James Franklin. So...I think you know the rest.

I live in PA and my husband is on the alumni board and I’ve met many board members and trustees including Jay Paterno. Several have insisted definitively that no one in the university did anything wrong, with the exception of Sandusky that they actually refuse to speak of. It’s insane to me.

Do they still say this? Are/were they subject to legal action if they do acknowledge wrongdoing? Are those people even still around?

these people still say this, they are still major donors and trustees to the university, they themselves were not subject to legal action but they insist the university did not coverup child rape at all and that it was a witch-hunt. The only thing they believe the university did wrong was firing Paterno.
