Already has as many 4 and 5 stars recruits as last years recruiting class and what we currently have already committed would have finished 27th in the country last year.

This years partial first recruiting class by Pruitt will blow Botches last recruiting class out of the water. This staff is doing some great work.

What a wonderful turn of events in the last month.

He’s doing work for sure. Problem is that UGA is recruiting like Bama has in the past 10 years. Gonna be tough to hang, but at least we have a shot. If Butch was still the coach, we’d fall so far behind it would take a decade to recover.

And that won’t last forever. When UGA takes a big tumble in ‘18, recruits will see right through it.

The quality is great, but the positional focus is tremendous. We haven't seen this many quality linemen in a long time. And that is sad, but true. Now I want some linebackers! Good defenses start up front and then down the middle. You better have depth in those combat positions like LBs and safeties. It's been embarrassing getting run over by weak-ass opponents like Missouri and Vanderbilt because we have no quality depth up the middle. Frickin embarrassing!

You are right. We definitely have lost one year. Butch should have been shown the door after failing to reach the Sugar Bowl by beating either USCe or Vandy in 2016. The excuse was Currie just being hired.

Tennessee must never forget this and read the writing on the wall, (foresight). We need, above all things, a proven AD with UT interests in mind that won't bow to anyone because PF doesn't want this job long term,IMO.

Top 8-10 class this year based on number of 4*s to total commits already. Actually are #6 based on that alone but 8-10 is completely more realistic how they’ll finish.

So far so good! Come February I hope he can add some quality DB's and LB's to this class. I don't want any more 6'0 215 pound "tweener" linebackers either! I want to start seeing some of those 6'3/6'4 240 pound stud linebackers that can truck people!

Tennessee has never been a hot spot for recruiting. Tennessee has to do more with less talent than our biggest rivals, and do it consistently. We do good, but not great. With the development of players not taking place under Butch, we were squandering all but the most naturally talented players in our region. With Pruitt, there should be no drop off in recruiting, but we should start seeing our players develop and playing good football, in the short term. After the Butch guys cycle out, we should have a great football team again.

Not saying we will out recruit GA. But we will definitely be a thorn in their side.

UT under the right coach can recruit with any team in the country. Fulmer had top 5 classes year after year. Recruiting is just part. You still have to coach them up!

Why is there such inconsistency between recruit rankings? I see a lot of players referred to as 4 stars, but 247 has them as 3. What is the “go to” or most accurate recruiting ranking site?

UGA unfortunately won’t take much of a step back next year. Look at their schedule. It’s ridiculously easy. They could sleepwalk to a 10 win season.

Butch gave up last year and his recruiting showed it. I also think when a coach puts out feelers for other schools (like Butch apparently did with Purdue) that opposing coaches smell blood in the water and will use it against them in recruiting. It was the same story with Fulmer, Dooley and Butch. I'd expect nothing less than top 20 from Pruitt. He's been proven to be an elite recruiter - his results this year should show it. Besides, even if he doesn't break top 20 all he needs to do is address the needs - OL, LB and DL - he's done a pretty good job so far.

Gotta be pumped about the job this staff is doing. Wait until we get Pruitt and all staff on board. If we can bring in some of the high rated guys recently targeted, I think we can settle in the 11-13 range.

Not worried about UGA/Bama. I'm actually OK with UGA bringing some of the power back to the east. We'll be on the rise too, as well as probably FL...and SC is stabilizing nicely.

We've got a decent starting 22, if Pruitt and crew can coach/develop like we hope, and if some of these JUCO's can pan out, they could really help our 2 deep rotation, much like Barnes brought in role players to bring experience and depth. If we can stabilize our OL/DL, and get good QB play, we aren't as far off as experts think...though expecting ceiling of 6-7 wins next year.
