The Daily Show Competition??

It's true. I think the reason it seems to be far left is because Bush is a Republican and is a walking talking joke.

Joke or not . . . Bush is the guy with the job. You have to expect him to take receive shots than anybody else.

I remember when Stewart had his little show late at night and he'd do claymations, he's come a long way..

I'm talking less Rep. vs. Dem. and more Left vs. Right. Their criticism is definitely from a left perspective and they rarely lampoon the core values of the left. However, they consistently lampoon the core values of the right.

I wish they were true equal opportunity satirists. Comedy rules over ideology in my book.
Sort of being fair and balanced like FNC oh that's right they never claimed to be fair and balanced on comedy central unlike some channels we all know.

Not sure why Fox keeps getting dragged into this discussion.

Just saying, there is enough lunacy on the left to fill a show as well. If the Daily Show were genius, they would be able to laugh at themselves (or their values) as well as those that that oppose.

Oh and I seen another skit from this show with Rush as president it made the Obama stuff look hilarious this show is dead in the water cause the only people that will watch is the ones already watching FNC.

Cause they claim to be fair and balanced when it is obvious to Stevie Wonder they are a Bush admin propaganda machine not even republicans are safe if they disagree with Bush do not claim to be something you are not they should be sued for false advertising.

As he mocks everything conservative and Republican? Did you see last year's WH Correspondents Dinner?

no, I just think he's a pompous ass. just like Bill O'Reilly, just like Al Franken, Hannity, and so on. I've been leaning away from punditry of any type lately since they are all monolithic in their belief structure.

seeing owb's reply below, I'm guessing you meant Colbert. No, I didn't see the WH Correspondents' Dinner, but I'm not particularly offended by Colbert's delivery. With few exceptions, the current crop of Republicans deserves whatever he can dish and I'm not sure if there's a real live Conservative left inside the Beltway.

You need to watch the correspondents dinner at some point. Even if you hate Colbert, you have to respect his gonads...

I love the tension that was on the shows Colbert and O'Reilly did together. I guess imitation is not the greatest form of flattery.
