The Dallas Cowboys football circus thread

I suggested this very thing not long ago on a Cowboys fan site.
Trade Dak for Garrett and Watson, trade terrible QB contracts, play Watson if he is able in 25, draft a QB in 26 because Watson will get injured badly again, cut him ASAP after the draft in 26.

That's actually the smartest thing I've heard for the cowboys to do, besides them actually trying in free agency and the draft. Because, if you think about it, if Watson doesn't perform (Only thing he'll perform for is at the spa), start Trey Lance. I am a huge believer in Lance, and I think if they give him a chance he'll perform, better than Watson and Rush, in this scenario. Lance may be the future. I don't care how poorly he played in San Francisco, he has weapons and can escape the pocket.

Rush is a FA don't believe he comes back. I'm okay with trading Dak, sign Rodgers for 1 year and draft the future QB in 2026... Trey Lance is a waste of air...imo

I disagree... it doesn't matter how he played in San Francisco, many QBs struggled in one place and when they got a change of scenery they shined (Drew Brees, Philip Rivers) ... just, if they need a backup, trust me, he may shine.

Lance has shown he is a frustrating blend of amazing athletic ability and a complete lack of QB ability. He will dazzle you one minute and have you throwing stuff at the TV the next. I think he has the tools, but he can't seem to keep it together with any consistency at all. Plus he is a free agent and Dallas probably is not offering him a contract. They would try and keep Rush before Lance. I would take a healthy Watson over Lance for a year even though there would be tremendous outcry from his haters. Dallas would need to hire him a male massage therapist though and keep him off the streets.

It's fine on paper but Dak has a no trade clause and he sure as hell isn't going to waive it to go to the damn Browns.
