The Dallas Cowboys football circus thread

Either you're a Cowboys fan for life or not. I choose to be a lifetime Cowboys fan since the mid 70's.

So if you're upset and can't take anymore of the Jerry Jones Saga then take your ball and go bandwagon another team. I heard the Commanders are accepting bandwagon fans..
I didn't say I was bailing on the Cowboys. I just cannot watch anymore. I cannot financially support this dumpster fire. I will continue to have hope and continue to keep track, but I just don't have the stomach to be all rah rah right now. Call it what you will. This once proud franchise is now just a circus with the Jones family as ringmasters. Jerry needs to retire, Stevie and Jerry Jr are probably worse than he is. I don't see another super bowl for a very long time.

I would wager he will not be drafted by the Cowboys unless by some freak series of events he is there when they pick in round 2.
Yep, which is why I said he'd like too. Jerry Jones can't learn when to do literally anything good for their franchise. Only good things he has done is extend CeeDee Lamb (overpaid) and extend Dak Prescott (overpaid). Dak is old enough to where I'd only extend him to 2 years and 21 million a year, not 60 MILLION for one year. Case in point: This year.

Who do you think would take him before the Dallas at 12? That's overwhelmingly where the majority of mock drafts put him* and it's obviously a profound need. Of course with Jerry being who he is and a new coach coming it's hard to say.

*We haven't even gotten to the combine yet so we'll see how that goes. I've seen some people thinking maybe Johnson going to Chicago would have him trying to get his own Gibbs there and a couple people tossing out Raiders and Niners (how much healthy production does McCaffrey have in him?) but early sentiment is strongly Jeanty to Dallas.

I have no idea, but I would bet he isn't still available at pick 12 of round 2. I keep seeing the mocks putting Luther Burden to the Cowboys at 12. Not impressed.

Plenty of RB's in draft. Dallas can get a Skatteboo, Sampson or the Iowa guy in 2nd round.

I would rather have Sampson or Skatteboo over Jeanty anyway...

Not the biggest $, but the Cowboys were paying Jason Garrett $6m/yr, same as what Andy Reid was getting.

Pretty sure they coughed up the dough for Jimmy and Parcells.
Maybe "ever" was an exaggeration. He here and there pays one big but has also had a bunch of coaches he hasn't broken the bank for (now with Schottenheimer, McCarthy, Wade Phillips, Dave Campo, Chan Gailey). And when he initially hired Garrett, I'm pretty sure that was bargain bin because he was Wade's OC. He didn't command a big salary until that 2014 breakout season plus Jerry really liked him personally.

You may well be right. While we're speculating who do you think would most likely be available at that spot they would rather take? (it's impossible to know all the variables so just your best guess)
If I had to guess, WR or OL. Someone to take some pressure of Dak, he is our biggest investment. I would be excited with Luther Burden, him and CD would be fun to watch.

I could see that possibly being the case. I also think with how underwhelming the off season has been Jerry's biggest splash for a legit position of need would be Jeanty. Especially with this cloud hanging over.

Eagles had more rush TDs in the NFCCG than the cowboys had... all season...

Ouchy.

My bet would be they go after Burden. However, he is a slot WR and CeeDee does most of his work there. I could see them taking McMillan also if he is there, Abdul Carter, the DT from Michigan maybe but I doubt it since their last one hasn't worked out. Maybe the OT from Texas. ( I am bad with names today) I also think we could see Norman-Lott going to Dallas in round 2.

FWIW I haven't seen any mock that has Cater available that late. (I've even seem some having the Titans taking him 1st overall) Most don't seem to have McMillian available there either but some do.

It's always fun to wonder but, probably like a lot of people, I tend to be pretty easy going until at least after the combine.
