Completely agree. Good for him for having the brass to face the public/media. Kiffin would've ducked out the side door. I admire him for getting up and taking his lumps. That's called life.

not sure what you're talking about. facing the public and media? where? that show is taped inside a closed room with no public and no media present. I'm sorry but Bob does not count as media.

He should be humiliated after what he has done to this program these kids that play for him and this University. The very least thing that should happen to this ******* is humiliation. You have loads of nerve to show compassion for this man. Who consistently thrown 20 yr old kids under the bus in a fruitless effort to save his own butt. All because he can't coach!

It's like watching someone die slowly. Even though you know it's for the best it's never fun to watch.

he works for the school...media are independent and ask serious questions. He is just an announcer and show host. Sorry, he does not qualify as media.

DaphneVol - Say want you want about him, but that has to be humiliating to do that show today.

golfballs -It comes w the territory

We got what we wanted. Dooley attempts to exit with class. It would be fitting that the Vol fans reciprocate.

I noticed that he wasn't doing much talking. I'll agree, though. That had to be gut wrenching to do.

I swear I thought he welled up a couple of times. His parting message to Bob and his crew were pretty classy.

Gotta give him some credit... took some serious guts to go through with the show after you'd been fired, contractual obligations or not.

Last night does not qualify as class.

He hugged the coach that whipped his arse. Aside from losing, which I was predicting would happen since week 3, what about last night was unclassy?

I would shake lane kiffins hand in public for 5 mil. Nothing is worse than that.

yeah but dooley should have some orange on! He is still getting pd.

for $5 mil he should have to wear the color orange every day til hes pif (just not the "T"). dont want him associated with UT after hes fired today!

A classic VN post--whartever happens, finds something to gripe about.

He showed more class than you'll ever show.

This may be classless post of the year. Mind giving us your age?

Look *******, I'm not saying I don't agree with you. Yes, he's a crappy coach, yes we got blown out by Vandy. I'm not showing compassion for him, I wanted him gone months ago. It has to be a sobering experience realizing you failed the team, program, and yourself. What's wrong with not wishing death on someone over their performance? Get off your high horse and grow up

I do not wish death or any harm to Dooley or his family. My point is that he could have taken this failure like a man and owned it. Instead of coaching these kids, he took every opportunity to throw 19 and 20 yr old kids under the bus thinking the whole time it really wasn't his fault. To me that says more about the integrity of this man than any of his speeches which he seems to hold his cool. Actions really do speak loudly and he is a trained orator, a lawyer. That's all I am saying and I am saying it without calling you names. You are allowed your opinion. This is mine!

What did he say on the DD Show that made you spew such venom?
